The Role
Bumble is looking for a strategic, emotionally intelligent Director of Public Policy & Corporate Affairs to lead our external policy and advocacy efforts with clarity, credibility, and deep focus. As The Love Company, Bumble is committed to championing healthy and safe relationships, online safety, AI leadership and the empowerment of women – both on and offline. This role will own Bumble’s U.S.-led public policy and government relations strategy, while also shaping how we show up externally through thought leadership, strategic partnerships, social impact, and corporate affairs. As part of this leadership role, you will oversee a small team, ensuring efficiency and strong performance.

The successful candidate will understand how to use public-private partnerships, press and policy engagement, and issue-led communications to elevate our brand in a way that is authentic, grounded, and aligned with our mission. You’ll lead the company’s most visible advocacy and impact work – from engaging lawmakers on online safety regulation, to aligning sustainability and philanthropy programs with healthy & safe relationships, technology & AI leadership and women's leadership.

What you’ll be doing:

    • Public Policy & Government Relations (U.S.-Led)
    • Lead Bumble’s public policy strategy in the U.S, with a clear focus on our three key pillars: healthy & safe relationships, technology & AI leadership & women's leadership.
    • Build trusted relationships with government officials, regulators, and aligned advocacy organizations, helping Bumble shape meaningful, focused policy change.
    • Monitor and respond to legislative and regulatory developments, particularly in AI integration, online safety, content moderation and women’s empowerment.
    • Draft public policy materials, written submissions, and represent Bumble in relevant industry working groups, briefings, and public hearings.
    • Align closely with internal teams — legal, communications, marketing, product, trust & safety — to ensure Bumble’s policy and advocacy is coordinated, strategic, and action-oriented.

    • Corporate Affairs & Brand Advocacy
    • Support executive visibility and thought leadership, helping Bumble’s voice lead conversations on our three key pillars.
    • Partner with communications teams to guide external messaging on policy issues, ensuring clarity, consistency, and brand integrity.
    • Proactively shape narratives and partner with mission-aligned organizations, stakeholders, and press to amplify Bumble’s role as The Love Company.

    • Social Impact
    • Align Bumble’s social impact and sustainability strategy with its core advocacy pillars: healthy & safe relationships, AI & technology and women's leadership.
    • Lead strategic partnerships with NGOs, nonprofits, and corporate coalitions driving work on healthy & safe relationships, AI & technology and women's leadership.
    • Serve as an internal compass for evaluating potential initiatives – holding the line on focus over breadth, and ensuring all work connects back to real member impact.

About You:

    • 12 years of experience in public policy, corporate affairs, social impact, or government relations, preferably in tech, consumer digital, or mission-led industries.
    • Deep understanding of U.S. policy and regulatory processes, with specific experience in online safety, tech accountability, or women’s issues.
    • Strong background in working with or influencing government, NGOs, advocacy groups, and press/media.
    • Proven success leading purpose-driven initiatives that tie policy, brand, and business objectives together with integrity.
    • High emotional intelligence and judgment – able to navigate sensitive external conversations and high-stakes decision-making with clarity and composure.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communicator, with experience supporting executive platforms and managing cross-functional engagement.
    • Deep alignment with Bumble’s values and mission – especially around safety, respect, and relational wellness.
