About Bunch
We're building the home for gamers in the Metaverse. Bunch is a digital world that allows players to meet up, hang out, and jump into any of their favorite games across the App Store. Our mission is to bring people together through the games that they love when they are physically apart!

Our team comes from companies like Meta, Google, and Kik Messenger and combines the experience of building large-scale social applications, developer platforms, and games. We've raised over $28M from top investors like General Catalyst and London Venture Partners, and many of the largest game companies including Electronic Arts, Krafton (PUBG), Take-Two Interactive, Ubisoft, Supercell, Riot Games, Miniclip, and Tencent.

Our current app Bunch 1.0 is one of the most popular group video chat apps for gaming that brought millions together through the pandemic. Bunch 2.0 is an evolution of it that turns it from a video chat application into a digital world that's more fun, and easier to meet new people. Bunch 2.0 is currently invite only, in the meantime you can download Bunch 1.0 here: https://bunch.app.link/BKlS8V2hImb

🤩 About the Role
We are building the standard social layer across every game - on any platform. This is a unique opportunity to take on a leadership role in a small team, working on a fast growing consumer product - and a developer platform that will be leveraged by some of the biggest games in the industry.

As VP of Engineering, you will be reporting directly to our CEO, and will be working closely with our founders, CTO and the rest of the executive team. You will be given a considerable amount of equity; and a competitive salary.

Your responsibilities will include:

Hiring and growing the best talent: You will be responsible for managing and growing our engineering teams across multiple offices, while concentrated in Toronto and Waterloo. You will need to excel in hiring the best people, and growing our talent from within - while building and maintaining our company and engineering culture.

Optimizing engineering output: You will be defining engineering best practices, and championing operational excellence across our engineering teams. You will be establishing the metrics and the processes to reduce technical debt, improve stability and ensure our engineering teams are delivering on their goals in the best way possible.

Influencing our product strategy: You will be closely partnering with our head of product and represent the voice of our engineering teams in developing and maintaining our product roadmap. You will need to be able to establish goals and ruthlessly prioritize to achieve them.

Helping scale Bunch to many millions: You will be closely partnering with our CTO in establishing our technology vision and making architecture decisions that will scale Bunch to many millions, while balancing our long term goals with our immediate plans for delivery.
