Mic/Bustle Digital Group is looking for a highly creative Senior Producer to join our dynamic, fast-paced Brand Newsroom team. This role is key to producing our values-driven, always-on digital content with some of the world’s largest and most prominent brands.

A strong candidate will have a keen understanding of what makes social video compelling, journalistic instincts on how to build out a story, and be an avid consumer of relevant subject matters. They will also have experience in all production phases. The ability to lead a team both explicitly and by example is necessary. 

The Senior Producer will sit on the Brand Newsroom creative team reporting to the Senior Director of Brand Newsroom, and will also work closely with the Brand Newsroom account management team.

Responsibilities

    • Source, research, and script stories for engaging socially-distributed videos
    • Concept and craft scripts, treatments, interview questions, and shot lists for productions
    • Develop stories based on brand’s key marketing initiatives, bringing forward Mic’s editorial voice 
    • Work closely and collaboratively with editor to bring story to life — collaboration is essential to this role
    • Conduct interviews in the field, in-studio, or via
    • Skype with range of interview subjects, always with final video product in mind
    • Leverage your existing freelance network for original production on-locationLead production, provide direction, and partner closely with crew members in the field
    • Work with on-camera talent to develop authentic personal narratives 
    • Handle client feedback in a timely and professional manner

Requirements

    • 4+ years experience in production, with emphasis on digital and social
    •  Strong narrative storytelling and script writing skills 
    • Journalism and/or news production background a plusKeen sense of visual storytelling
    • Excellent communicator
    • Detail oriented and organized; mastery of call sheets and production tracking
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines with upbeat urgency
    • Working knowledge of production paperwork including COIs, film permits, carnets, gear quotes and freelancer contracts
    • Passionate about Mic's mission and unique beats
    • Understanding of what goes into creating an engaging social video
