Video Programming and Channel Strategist

Bustle Digital Group is seeking a data centric video strategist to manage day-today programming, distribution and growth across all channels. In addition, the strategist will use all available data to provide our video and audience development teams with actionable, timely insights to help drive content development and promotion. The ideal candidate is creative, detail oriented, and analytically minded with a deep understanding of the digital video landscape.

Responsibilities

    • Manage day-to-day operations of all video channels and syndication Including programming, scheduling, audience engagement and optimization
    • Primary point of contact around all video programming functions from metadata, SEO, to content packaging across platforms
    • Analyze performance of content and schedules for ongoing optimization, including views, watch time, shares, comments, sentiment, sub/follower growth, etc., and establish effective feedback loops
    • Work with various teams on all aspects of video from idea generation to optimization of promotion including headline, title and thumb creation
    • Continually test and evaluate new strategies and tactics, in an effort to improve and grow our video offerings
    • Create and execute onboarding strategies for the brand on new platforms
    • Collaborate with Producers, Editors, and Designers for platform assets following best practices (channel banners, thumbnail templates, avatars, end slates, animations, etc.)
    • Drill into trends, test hypotheses, and become an expert on video measurement and distribution

Requirements

    • 6+ years working in a programming or audience oriented role focused on growth for a digital publisher, brand, platform, social media, MCN, media agency or similar
    • Experience with a variety of channels (eg Facebook, YouTube, O&O, Vemba, etc)
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PPT, Excel, Word); Expert in complex Excel formulas
    • Managed or mentored employees
    • Ability to extract, interpret, and easily communicate data and trends to a diverse range of stake holders
