Elite Daily is seeking part-time, remote general news writers available nights and weekends. Candidates should be as comfortable writing about health care policy as they are about Kim Kardashian’s latest Snapchat. Ideally, we’re looking for someone who can make health care policy as entertaining as Kim Kardashian’s latest Snapchat — and bring something new to the discussion of both.
A minimum commitment of at least 2 days per week in the afternoon and evening EST is required, although the position could be 4 days a week as well. Writers will work remotely. You should be able to fill at least two of the following shifts: Monday-Friday 3pm-10pm. EST, Saturday/Sunday 9am-4pm and 10am-5pm. EST. Schedules may change seasonally.
- Strong voice, unique ideas, and the ability to not completely force your views on readers
- Versatility across subjects from politics to celebrity news to viral stories
- Twitter addiction regrettably preferred
- Availability to work remotely at least three days a week
- 2+ years reporting/blogging/writing experience
- Degree in journalism, communications, political science, or related
- Knowledge of AP style and SEO experience is a plus
