Health & Wellness Writer, Bustle

Editorial – Bustle
Bustle is seeking remote, part-time writers to cover Health & Wellness for our Lifestyle vertical. Day-to-day responsibilities include pitching and writing quick turnaround news, evergreen, and service stories about health (including mental health, sexual health, chronic illness, and reproductive rights), wellness, sleep, nutrition, and fitness. This role will also have opportunities to contribute longer lead reported stories to the section. A passion for and understanding of broader issues affecting young people, like how race, socioeconomic status, spirituality, gender identity, and sexual orientation intersect with well-being, is crucial. A network of industry contacts and go-to experts is a plus.

Candidates must have availability to work 3-4 days per week during business hours, ET.


    • Write 6-8 500-word stories per week comprising a mix of pitches and assignments
    • Stay up-to-date on the latest health research, wellness trends, and influential thought leaders in this space to produce authoritative content
    • Manage ongoing assignments, including conducting interviews and follow-ups


    • Applicants should have at least 2 years experience covering health
    • Ability to turn in clean, accurate copy in a timely fashion 
    • Comfort covering sensitive topics
    • A sense for what makes a Bustle story
    • Familiarity with SEO best practices
