Bustle Digital Group is seeking a creative and strategic marketer for our East Coast Brand Strategy team in New York, NY. As the Associate Director of Brand Strategy, you will play an essential role across the presale function, ideating for partners across the Tech (Consumer Electronics, Gaming), Entertainment, Finance and Auto verticals — overseeing compelling, customized proposals across Bustle Digital Group’s (BDG) portfolio of brands. You’ll play a strategic role in driving revenue growth and ideating new-to-market executions for partners.

Responsibilities

    • Oversee innovative ideas and category-specific approaches for partners across the tech, entertainment, consumer electronics, auto, and finance verticals and beyond, identifying and designing the strategy as needed
    • Strong collaboration with the Branded Content, Video, Experiential, Research/Trends, and Sales Teams to create strategic marketing proposals with cross-departmental liaisons, expanding Bustle Digital Group’s reputation as a thought leader in the marketplace
    • Build on signature initiatives across the Culture & Innovation portfolio (Inverse, Input, and Mic) while ideating new opportunities, collaborating and creating marketing collateral that communicates site storytelling
    • Ensure all ideas are packaged appropriately from a marketing and planning perspective, aligning with the objectives of our brand partners
    • Understand and leverage insights to better curate exclusive opportunities backed by data, utilizing measurement tools to add relevant, trustworthy research to our ideation
    • Manage interdepartmental workflow to ensure that all elements are handled according to process and schedule, including turnover of sold programs to account management team
    • Develop new sales marketing materials using industry, marketing, and third-party research
    • Stay abreast of industry & competitive news (especially in Tech, Finance, and Auto), identifying unique advertiser programs and digital innovations and compiling highlights for the team
    • Attend client meetings when necessary to explain the creative marketing idea in more detail

Requirements

    • Strategic and creative thinker with excellent verbal and written skills; ability to multi-task
    • 5-7+ years of digital marketing experience or digital strategy in a related field
    • Ability to monitor insights and communicate data points to enhance marketing offerings
    • Excellent creative writing and storytelling skills with an ability to execute visually impactful presentations
    • Keen eye for design, image, story, and understanding of brand
    • Strong communication as well as presentation skills; must be able to pitch ideas and onboard others toward a common strategic goal
    • True self-starter with the ability to hone in on sales-specific needs to drive revenue
    • Strong knowledge of digital sales, marketing dynamics, and processes
    • Proficiency in Keynote, MS Office, SnagIt, and experience with research tools such as: Google Analytics, comScore, Quantcast, and/or Shareablee
    • Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
