About the Role
We are searching for someone to lead our engineering group and become a senior member of the team focused on delivering customer focused and high-quality technical solutions at ButcherBox. This leader will lead 30+ engineers and technical team members in software engineering, software quality, devops, and cloud infrastructure. We expect them to proactively support their team members, helping guide their career growth, assessing their performance, and understanding and addressing the problems they face. These technical teams are responsible for designing, building, deploying, and maintaining the technical systems and solutions that enable our business.

In this role the leader will collaborate with our Executives, Stakeholders, Product Management, and Technology Teams to understand the business needs and translate them into an impactful engineering roadmap. We want to talk with candidates for this opportunity that are experienced engineering leaders with expertise in the complete software development lifecycle including: agile processes, business requirements, system design, user experience, object-oriented design, design for scalability and redundancy, relational database design, and all stages of software quality. This position will report to the Chief Technology Officer and will lead our engineering functions at ButcherBox.

Responsibilities
•Identify, lead, and projects to deliver software products that are aligned with our corporate priorities and organizational needs by working collaboratively with our product management team and stakeholders - partner with these teams to determine company priorities
•Deliver software products that delight our customers and accelerate our business growth
•Collaborate with the CTO and technical leadership to develop a technical and architectural roadmap for the engineering needs of the organization
•Responsible for our ecommerce and back-office solutions to support
•Engage with our project management team to organize the teams work and continuously improve the processes for the teams changing needs and capabilities
•Collaborate with our Product Owners on the complete product lifecycle from concept to execution
•Manage, mentor, and the engineering teams capable of delivering to our technology roadmap
•Recruit and retain top technical talent
•Develop and collaborate with our engineering team leadership on the policies and procedures that ensure quality standards are met and maintained
•Responsible for and improve our product quality through more comprehensive testing in the areas of performance, availability, security, and privacy
•Drive the highest level of test automation possible
•Understand the market and our internal and external customers and stay current on leading industry and technology trends
•Cultivate and maintain a work environment that supports being kind, useful, and awesome

Requirements
•8+ years of experience in technical leadership for engineering and devops
•12+ years of technology experience working in software product engineering
•Experience leading/developing front-end web solutions, back-end service-oriented architecture frameworks, and relational database design in an enterprise cloud environment
•Strong analytical and project management skills
•Experience developing complex software solutions involving multiple teams and stakeholders
•Experience in building process and engaging with teams using Agile Scrum and Kanban processes
•Experience in leading technical teams to build complex solutions in a collaborative work environment ensuring that best practices and architectural tradeoffs are considered
