As a Senior Process engineer, you are a key team member responsible for overseeing complex environmental and energy projects and collaborating closely with the process team throughout all project phases. Your role includes contributing to project design, conducting calculations, and ensuring safe operations, ultimately playing a critical role in advancing environmental and energy sustainability initiatives.

Key Tasks
- Collaborate closely with the process team under the Process Director
- Participate in all project phases: tendering, execution, commissioning, start-up, and potential O&M
- Contribute to feasibility studies and conceptual design for various environmental and energy projects
- Handle technologies including wastewater and water treatment, sludge and waste management, biogas, hydrogen, CCU, and heat networks
- Specific responsibilities include process concept development, calculations (mass balance, heat balance), diagram preparation, equipment selection, control philosophy definition, and layout proposals
- Prepare commissioning plans and verify process guarantees
- Calculate quantities of chemicals, process water, energy consumption, and other consumables for O&M
- Participate in safety analyses like HAZOP and RAMS
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years in wastewater treatment, industrial water treatment, and potable water treatment as a process engineer, including project proposal, execution, and commissioning
- Additional experience in biogas plants, sludge treatment, and thermal processes is a plus
- Must have a Master's degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or Chemical Engineering
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Capable of handling multiple tasks or projects simultaneously
- Willing to work in different environments, including offices and on-site locations, for functions like subcontractor management, project startup, and commissioning
- Fluent in Dutch and ready to work predominantly in Dutch (80% of the time),
- Skilled in conceptualising wastewater treatment plants, generating flow and mass balances, optimising plant layouts, and configuring hydraulic systems from scratch.
- Experienced and prepared to lead commissioning and startup processes for wastewater treatment plants
- Preferred proficiency in using software such as GPSX or Biowin for simulations
Languages
- Proficiency in Dutch is required
- B2 level of proficiency in English
- B2 level of proficiency in French
