On-site
Join a major marine and civil construction project in Mozambique, supporting the delivery of a Material Offloading Facility (MOF) and jetty works in an international setting. As a Technical Office Engineer, you will ensure all documentation, methods, and materials are prepared for the site teams — enabling smooth execution and high-quality results.

Our client is a leading international contractor with a century-long track record of delivering complex civil and marine projects across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. They are known for technical excellence, innovation, and sustainable solutions in challenging environments.

What You'll do

    • Plan, monitor, and control your assigned work package to meet project objectives.
    • Prepare method statements, drawings, lifting plans, risk assessments, and inspection/test plans for both permanent and temporary works.
    • Ensure site teams have the correct documentation, methods, and materials to carry out work efficiently.
    • Coordinate with design teams to track technical deliverables and align with site requirements.
    • Assist in planning activities, working closely with the Planner and Technical Manager.
    • Prepare material take-offs, RFQs, and purchase requests for subcontracts and materials.
    • Support subcontractor and supplier coordination — from tendering and comparison to contract follow-up.
    • Track deliveries, invoicing, and approvals for permanent materials.
    • Maintain technical records, lessons learned, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

    • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
    • 5-10 years’ experience with a construction contractor on large civil infrastructure; marine works (jetty or MOF projects) is a strong plus.
    • Solid technical knowledge of permanent and temporary works preparation.
    • Proactive, analytical, and solution-driven mindset.
    • Strong planning, organisational, and reporting skills, with close attention to detail.
    • Ability to work in dynamic, multicultural teams and adapt to changing conditions.
    • Familiarity with risk management and application on complex projects.

Languages

    • Fluent in English (required).
    • French or Portuguese is an advantage.

Why Candidates Choose This Role

    • Competitive salary and expat benefits, including medical coverage and rotational arrangements.
    • Professional growth opportunities in a large-scale international project.
    • A collaborative, innovative workplace with experienced colleagues.
    • The chance to contribute to landmark marine infrastructure projects with long-lasting impact.
