Project Director – Mozambique (Marine Works)

As Project Director, you will lead the delivery of a major marine infrastructure project — including a large jetty and Material Offloading Facility (MOF) — ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and timely completion. You will oversee every project phase, from contract negotiations to execution, while driving collaboration among clients, contractors, and internal teams.

Your Task

    • Direct all project activities to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and aligned with client requirements.
    • Oversee contract negotiations, procurement, and stakeholder management at all stages.
    • Lead financial monitoring, risk management, and reporting to drive project performance.
    • Steer technical reviews, resource allocation, and team mobilisation for critical milestones.
    • Represent the company externally, building strong relationships with clients, partners, and local authorities.
    • Ensure high standards of safety, quality, and compliance across the entire lifecycle.
    • Operate on a 6/3 rotational schedule at a secured base camp in Mozambique.

Your Profile

    • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
    • 15+ years managing large, complex infrastructure projects (> €150M), with a proven record in marine works such as jetties, MOFs, or other heavy marine infrastructure.
    • Expertise in contract management and claim handling (FIDIC).
    • Outstanding leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to resolve complex challenges.
    • Experienced in mobilising and leading multicultural teams in demanding environments.
    • Willingness to work as an expat on a rotational basis (6 weeks on / 3 weeks off).
