Our client is a leading international construction and infrastructure company, specializing in multidisciplinary projects across Europe and beyond. They are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee operations for a cutting-edge mono-processing plant for sludge treatment in the Port of Ghent, Belgium. This is an exciting opportunity to lead maintenance operations for a high-profile environmental project
As a Maintenance Manager, you will oversee all maintenance activities for a cutting-edge sludge treatment plant in Ghent, ensuring continuous operations, equipment reliability, and compliance with safety and environmental standards. You will lead a team of technicians and supervisors, drive efficiency, manage upgrades, and optimize plant performance while adhering to budget and regulatory requirements.
What You Will Do
- Maintenance Operations: Oversee all site maintenance activities, ensuring efficient plant performance and equipment reliability.
- Team Leadership: Supervise maintenance staff, ensuring effective task execution and coordination.
- Technical & Process Optimization: Lead system repairs, upgrades, and efficiency improvements while troubleshooting technical issues.
- HSE & Compliance: Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental regulations, maintaining a zero-harm workplace.
- Risk & Budget Management: Conduct risk assessments, oversee emergency response, and manage maintenance budgets to optimize costs.
How You Will Qualify
- Degree in Electromechanics, Biochemistry, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, ideally in waste treatment, biogas, or sludge processing.
- Expertise in mechanical, electrical, and process engineering within large-scale industrial operations.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing technical teams.
- Knowledge of preventive/corrective maintenance, contract management, and cost control.
- Fluent in Dutch (other languages are a plus).
- Willing to work on-site in Ghent, Belgium.
