Our client is a well-established international company active in construction and infrastructure and operates across multiple regions worldwide.
We are looking for a Technical Office Manager for Africa/Europe with experience in heavy civil infrastructure and/or Marine works to join our client's team.
As a Technical Office Manager you are responsible of the implementation and coordination of the technical and engineering side of a large site project and you report directly to the Project Manager. You also coordinate and manage all specific tasks in the Technical Office.
Your role
- You will be responsible for the management of the technical office and do the follow up of the in situ design and adjustments, planning, method statements, etc. from start to finish;
- You manage a team of project and technical engineers, ensure proper reporting to the project management and make sure to meet the contractual requirements;
- You ensure a good communication with the client;
- You report to the Project Manager;
- Deal with complex and difficult customer demands;
- Other specific trades (steel structures, complex concrete prefabrication unit, etc) are applicable (related to the type of project).
Your profile
- You have a Master degree in Civil Engineering;
- You have proven a track record with at least 10 years of relevant working experience within a major construction company, having managed large complex construction projects (> 200 million €) in Civil, Marine & Infrastructure Works;
- You identify with our client's core competencies by possessing an entrepreneurial mind, showing flexibility, being innovative and result-oriented while promoting teamwork;
- You continuously look to do things better and you anticipate problems. When a problem is detected you are able to solve it with your team;
- You possess excellent communication skills, an analytical mind and you are client focused;
- You manage the activities of your team members, you motivate and coach them;
- You are able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines;
- You have previously worked as an EXPAT in the MENA region.
- You are fluent in English . Speaking Portuguese is a big asset.
- You are okay to work on a rotation schedule (camp based, single status).
