Our client, a leading international engineering and construction company, has been entrusted with delivering the €100 million MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) scope of a €600 million investment in a cutting-edge glass production facility in Lommel. This large-scale industrial project is set to become one of Belgium’s most significant developments, and our client plays a critical role in its successful delivery.

As an Experienced Technical Office Engineer – HVAC (MEP), you’ll lead the technical office activities for the HVAC/MEP scope of this flagship project. You will be the central point of contact between design teams, suppliers, and the on-site execution teams. This role requires taking ownership of engineering coordination, validating designs, and ensuring seamless execution from office to site.

What You’ll Do

    • Take full ownership of the technical office function for HVAC/MEP works (mechanical and electrical).
    • Review and validate detailed design drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals.
    • Coordinate with the on-site HVAC (MEP) Coordinators and subcontractors to ensure designs are implemented correctly.
    • Lead technical meetings with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve design/installation challenges.
    • Manage procurement schedules, equipment approvals, and delivery timelines.
    • Ensure compliance with Belgian regulations, project specifications, and safety standards.
    • Identify and implement engineering optimisations to improve project efficiency and cost control.
    • Report progress and technical issues directly to senior management and the client.

What We’re Looking For

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a technical office or engineering coordination role on large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
    • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and process piping systems, as well as integration with electrical/BMS systems.
    • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and other relevant engineering software.
    • Excellent coordination, problem-solving, and leadership skills — able to “run the show” in a high-paced environment.
    • Category B driving license.

    • English required
    • Dutch or French is an asset
