Our client is an internationally active engineering and contracting firm delivering high-impact projects in energy, infrastructure, and industrial construction. They are responsible for the full MEP scope of a €600 million state-of-the-art glass production facility in Lommel — one of Europe’s largest ongoing industrial projects.

As Junior HR Officer, you will support the project’s HR processes, gaining hands-on experience in recruitment, onboarding, payroll coordination, and compliance with Belgian labor regulations. You’ll handle both EU and non-EU personnel, ensuring all hiring, work permits, and legal documentation are processed accurately. You’ll receive on-site coaching and training to build your HR skills while working with an experienced international team.

What You’ll Do

    • Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation.
    • Support recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding for EU and non-EU personnel.
    • Assist with payroll processes in compliance with Belgian regulations.
    • Help ensure consistent application of company HR policies.
    • Learn to manage legal registrations, work permits, and employment documentation for EU and non-EU employees and subcontractors.
    • Support training, performance reviews, and employee engagement initiatives.

Who You Are

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
    • 1–3 years’ experience in HR, administration, or recruitment (internships or traineeships also welcome).
    • Eager to learn about Belgian labor law and HR practices.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office; exposure to HRIS systems is a plus.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Driving license B.

Languages

    • English: required
    • Dutch or French: an asset
