For young graduates or experienced undergrads seeking to be a Junior Purchaser in a construction industry to conduct a correct, timely and cost-conscious purchasing policy.
Our client is an important general contracting company in Belgium, active in the construction and engineering of buildings, civil works, infrastructure and pipeline projects. With projects in Belgium, EU and abroad, they offer a wide range of career opportunities.
What you’ll do
- study the purchase files from a technical, commercial point of view;
- request and follow up quotes, as well as make price comparisons in preparation for conducting negotiation conversations;
- negotiate prices, delivery time, payment conditions, place orders and follow the agreed delivery times; then, place and process the orders;
- work closely with colleagues in implementation regarding the selection of subcontractors, the organization of the yard (planning) and the priorities of the yard;
- develop concrete proposals for drawing up contracts with subcontractors & suppliers;
- proactively look for alternative suppliers in function of the work to be carried out;
- report to the Head of Purchase;
You will qualify because you
- have a Bachelor or Master in Industrial Engineering Architecture;
- have graduated in 2020 or 2021;
- have strong analytical qualities, a sense of structure and procedures;
- have knowledge of Office applications;
- have good communication and enterprise skills;
- have problem-solving thinking skills and strong negotiating skills;
- are geographically flexible to work on projects in Brussels, Flanders or Wallonia (depending on where you live);
Of course, languages are important
- Dutch is required if working on Projects in Brussels and Flanders;
- French is required if working on Projects in Brussels and Wallonia;
- English is optional but always useful;
You will be based
- On site, depending on the location of the project this can be in Brussels, Flanders or the Wallonia
