As Technical Office Manager, you will oversee the engineering and planning functions of a major marine works project — including a large jetty and marine offloading facility — ensuring technical excellence, efficiency, and timely delivery. You will lead a multidisciplinary technical team and coordinate closely with the project’s Technical Director to support all site activities.
Our client, a global construction leader with over a century of experience, is renowned for delivering complex civil and marine infrastructure projects in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. They are known for combining innovation, technical rigour, and high safety standards on landmark international projects.
Your Task
- Lead and manage a team of engineers, planners, and technical specialists (e.g., structural, methods, logistics, BIM, MEP).
- Oversee design coordination, construction methods, planning, and technical documentation to meet project milestones.
- Prioritise and organise site technical office activities to maximise quality, continuity, and efficiency.
- Address complex technical challenges and client requirements, ensuring solutions are practical and cost-effective.
- Supervise specialised works such as steel structures, complex concrete fabrication, or marine-related disciplines.
- Collaborate with site management and stakeholders to align technical deliverables with construction schedules.
- Work on a 6/3 rotational schedule at a secured base camp in northern Mozambique.
Your Profile
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, or Architecture.
- 10+ years of experience managing technical teams on large, complex construction projects (>€100M), preferably in marine or civil works.
- Experience with jetty or quay wall construction is an advantage.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coach multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and client-facing skills.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, flexible, innovative, and results-driven.
- Willing to work as an expat on a 6 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotation.
