Our client is a leading engineering and technology player active in sustainable energy and waste-to-energy (WTE) infrastructure. Headquartered in Belgium, the company delivers turnkey plants and systems that convert residual waste into energy and recover valuable resources, contributing to a cleaner future.
As a Mechanical Designer, you will support the development of electromechanical equipment for large-scale WTE plants. Working closely with project and process engineers, you'll produce detailed construction and layout drawings while ensuring compliance with technical and client requirements. This is a great opportunity to contribute to impactful infrastructure in a multidisciplinary environment.
What You’ll Do
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D mechanical designs using AutoCAD and Inventor
- Produce layout, construction, and assembly drawings for equipment and structures
- Review and adapt PFD and P&ID diagrams
- Provide technical input during the design and concept phase
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams and suppliers during project execution
- Support site colleagues during equipment installation and troubleshoot design issues
- Ensure all designs meet specifications, standards, and client expectations
What We’re Looking For
- Solid experience as a Mechanical Designer in industrial or plant environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanics or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a plus
- Strong knowledge of electromechanical equipment (no piping scope)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor
- Familiarity with technical documentation (PFD, P&ID)
- A team player with strong communication skills
- Willingness to occasionally travel abroad
