About the Position
Callan is seeking a new team member to join our Client Report Services (CRS) team in the following Callan locations: Portland, OR, or San Francisco headquarters. As a Performance Analyst in the Client Report Services (CRS) group at Callan, a leading independent investment consulting firm, you’ll be responsible for calculating and verifying portfolio returns and characteristics. From this analysis, you’ll produce investment measurement reports that provide important insights into the performance of our client portfolios. Our goal is to identify a candidate with a genuine interest in investments, data analysis, and reporting, has intellectual curiosity, strong project and time management skills and a true appreciation for the value of building strong, trusted relationships with clients and fellow Callan colleagues.
Please note: This position will be expected to work a hybrid schedule, with approximately two (2) days a week in the office.

In this position, you’ll have an opportunity to support some of the largest, most sophisticated institutional investors in the U.S., including pension and defined contribution plans, endowments, foundations, insurance companies, and health care organizations. Along the way, you’ll hone the fundamentals of investment measurement reporting, learn the specific needs of large institutional investors, and critical skills to take your career to the next level.
Primary Duties:
Data Collection and Evaluation:
· Calculate returns using custodial statements
· Reconcile returns with investment managers
· Obtain client information from investment managers/recordkeepers
· Generate portfolio characteristics
· Verify dividends/capital changes
Production of Investment Measurement Reports:
· Interact with clients and consultants on report content
· Check returns and analysis for content and reasonability
· Respond to special requests
· Obtain non-custodial information for mutual/commingled/real estate/private equity funds
· Generate custom reports using various proprietary software programs
Job Skills and Requirements

· Be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organization skills
Characteristics:
· Have a familiarity/interest in the institutional investment market
· Be self-motivated, accurate, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while meeting numerous deadlines
· Be able to thrive in an unstructured environment
· Resourceful and have a great deal of patience
· Strong desire to learn and drive to excel
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in finance, statistics, mathematics, or related degree
· 0-2 years of professional work experience, preferably in finance or the investment industry. New college graduates are encouraged to apply.

$65,000 - $85,000 a year
The range listed represents what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of this posting. Depending on the qualifications and level of work experience of the ideal candidate, we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and may be modified in the future.
