Position Description

CamberView seeks an experienced and highly motivated Principal to join our advisory team. The Principal will be responsible for advising senior executives and directors at public companies on engagement with shareholders and tactics for navigating complex shareholder challenges.  The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to translate a deep understanding of current issues related to corporate governance, activism, M&A, portfolio management and proxy voting, and be able to translate this knowledge into actionable advice for clients. This position will report to the company’s President.

Responsibilities of the Principal include, but are not limited to, the following:

Lead execution of client engagements
·        Manage all aspects of day-to-day client engagements
·        Conduct analyses of clients fundamental challenges, messaging gaps and corporate governance practices
·        Deliver advice to senior client executives and directors across a range of fundamental and governance issues
·        Assist companies in navigating complex investor relations challenges and in articulating a compelling investment thesis to retain current shareholders and appeal to prospective shareholders
·        Develop strategies for engaging with and securing support of governance-oriented investors
·        Establish and nurture client relationships
·        Lead engagement team of Analysts and Associates in the development of supporting materials and analyses
·        Efficiently leverage expertise from across the firm to address client issues
·        Coordinate with legal, financial and other advisors, as necessary
Support Partners in the development of the business
·        Assist in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
·        Identify and pursue ancillary business opportunities within existing client base
·        Contribute intellectual leadership on key fundamental and governance issues, including the development of thought pieces, analytical frameworks, and other materials with broad applicability
·        Participate in governance and investor-related conferences, including as a speaker or panelist as well as assisting Partners in preparation for speaker roles
Demonstrate a leadership role in developing the talent of the company
·        Serve as a leader and mentor to Analysts and Associates, helping to develop the next generation of Principals and Partners
·        Assist in identifying and recruiting new team members
·        Lead ‘CamberCollege’ training sessions on selected topics of interest and expertise 
A successful candidate will possess the following:
·        7+ years of work experience
·        Bachelor's Degree; with a strong academic record
·        MBA or equivalent a plus
·        CFA a plus
·        Strong leadership skills
·        Collaborative and team oriented with sound judgment and strong interpersonal skills
·        Excellent written communication skills
·        Proven ability to develop written presentation and thought leadership materials
·        Track record of engagement with senior level executives and board members of public companies
·        Ability to communicate effectively in presentations and express complex strategies in an organized and articulate manner
·        Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
This position will provide a competitive base compensation, benefits package and incentive bonus based on the individual’s performance.
