About the Role
As the first Canary sales engineer, you will drive business growth by supporting the technical needs of the sales organization. Your role will be pivotal in effectively managing technical demo environments and POCs, communicating technical information to customers and helping to develop and maintain relationships to build trust.

Responsibilities

    • Understand our product/service’s technical features, functionalities and benefits
    • Study customer needs, pain points and business challenges in order to create customized sales proposals in partnership with Account Executives
    • Generate and manage custom and personalized demo environments
    • Conduct product demonstrations to showcase key features and functionalities and address technical questions and concerns from customers
    • Provide pre-sales support by answering technical inquiries and participating in sales meetings
    • Liaise with the product and engineering teams to address technical concerns or requirements
    • Develop and deliver technical documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications and product training sessions
    • Collaborate with internal teams to gather technical requirements and ensure the successful implementation of solutions
    • Provide post-sales support to customers, including technical troubleshooting and customer training, ensuring their satisfaction with Canary products and services
    • Give active feedback and insights from the market to the product development and marketing team
    • Participate in sales meetings, trade shows and industry events to promote our products or services
    • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics and competitor offerings
    • Partner and strategize with Account Executives for discovery calls, product demonstrations, POC support and onsite meetings
    • Work with AEs to respond to RFIs and RFPs

Qualifications

    • Minimum 5+ years working with Mid-market level sales prospects in a SaaS pre-sales/sales engineering capacity
    • Ability to travel ~20%
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Consistent track record selling complex solutions
    • Experience with Mid-market sales cycles
    • Experience in the Hospitality industry is a plus
    • Experience working with technical prospects and customers
    • Expertise in managing pre-sales cycles and conducting technical evaluations using sales methodologies like MEDDPICC
    • Strong knowledge of Javascript, SQL, various no-SQL databases, APIs, etc.
    • Familiarity with web/software development or a background in computer science/STEM
    • Ability to think on your feet and passion for creative solutions
