Canvas is seeking a curious and strategic Associate Director to help drive success for the STARZ business. The Associate Director, reporting to the VP, Strategy, will be the key day-to-day lead overseeing cross-channel planning and execution, with specific emphasis leading digital execution, for all Upper Funnel Brand and Show activity informed by consumer insights, creative thinking, and data.  Working in tandem with the Linear TV Investment team, the Associate Director will also be a key player in the infusion of tactical investment into the overall planning process.  This role will be the key liaison with cross-functional teams, including Analytics, Ad Ops, etc.  They will be the key point of contact for all day-to-day Client partners, responsible for managing communication and deliverables.

Responsibilities

    • Manage a team of Supervisors, Planners and Associates to facilitate all Client deliverables, as well as provide guidance and growth for their direct reports
    • Oversee the day-to-day Brand Strategy and Planning across all campaigns
    • Planning lead for all Brand efforts across TV, Audio, Digital, and Integrated Partnerships
    • Execution lead for all Brand efforts across Audio, Digital, and Integrated Partnerships, including negotiations, recommendations, activation, reporting and campaign management
    • Oversee development of client presentations, designed to effectively bring the story of the media plan to life in strategic and engaging ways
    • Collaborate with Analytics team to create clear and measurable objectives, strategies, and the approach to deliver on campaign strategy and business objectives
    • Lead innovation and progressive planning techniques by testing and learning through new opportunities, partners, and technology
    • Ongoing and regular client service, communication and account management
    • Active in the industry and community with a high level of knowledge and interest across media trends, opportunities, and the landscape
    • Expert in digital media and responsible for all elements related to building/executing digital media campaigns that deliver on the brand’s strategy
    • Detail oriented with a focus on ensuring flawless execution throughout the process workflow
    • Must possess effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate and lead a group in a team environment
    • Foster strong cross-team relationships among all groups within CWW and partner agencies
    • Ensure digital planning process is followed, from pre-planning through post campaign reporting and identify improvements in procedures, templates, etc. 

Qualifications

    • 8+ years of experience in Media Planning / Strategy, with Entertainment experience strongly preferred
    • 4+ years of experience managing and developing teams
    • Expertise and knowledge of Digital media required
    • Expertise and knowledge of Linear media strongly preferred
    • Ability to build strong, trust-based relationships with clients, make an impact on their business, and showcase the talent and accomplishments of the entire agency team(s)
    • Strong media marketplace knowledge and understanding of what drives the most successful agreements between media partners, clients, and agencies
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Exceptional management, organizational, and responsiveness skills
    • Possess a strong ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with flexibility
    • Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships
    • Will be required to live in LA and work from Playa Vista office a minimum of 2 days/week
$110,000 - $120,000 a year
Salary and Benefits
Actual base salary is determined upon factors such as experience, qualifications, training, certifications, and internal equity. The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Base salary is part of a total rewards package that includes highly competitive benefits like generous medical, dental, vision, pet insurance, commuter benefits, disability and life insurance coverage, 401(k) matching, up to 14 holidays per year, a “Do Good Day,” and unlimited PTO.
