We are currently seeking an attorney based in our New York office.

The ideal candidate will partner closely with the business teams and provide a value-added legal perspective that supports business operations while protecting the company and mitigating risk.
The senior counsel role reports to the Head of Business & Legal Affairs will be involved in all aspects of the department, including contract negotiations with vendors and clients, advising on disputes and litigation and a variety of other matters that arise in the course of business, which will include matters such as intellectual property, privacy, data and technology, compliance, corporate law and employment.

Responsibilities

    • Draft and negotiate a variety of contracts: Media buying terms, sponsorship and custom content agreements, IP licensing, AdTech/MarTech agreements, software licensing and technology contracts, client contracts and other vendor agreements
    • Advise on data privacy issues in the context of digital advertising and advertising related technology
    • Assist in developing, maintaining, and enforcing company policies, procedures and standards related to legal compliance; help to educate employees about their obligations and responsibilities
    • Work with outside counsel on disputes, litigation, real estate, labor matters and other “specialist” areas
    • Advise on legal and compliance issues as they arise

Qualifications

    • Admitted to practice law in New York and/or California
    • 5+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house role
    • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Media and Advertising, AdTech/MarTech Agreements, Digital Advertising, Data Privacy and Data Security, SaaS Agreements
    • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Ability to work effectively across departments and coordinate efforts of business teams
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
    • Demonstrated business judgment and understanding and the impact of legal decisions/processes on operations
    • “Get it done” attitude with an ability to give legal advice that balances the organization’s objectives and risk tolerance
    • Collegial and easygoing with a strong work ethic
Yearly compensation range: $175,000 - $185,000

Salary and Benefits
Actual base salary is determined upon factors such as experience, qualifications, training, certifications, and internal equity. The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Base salary is part of a total rewards package that includes highly competitive benefits like generous medical, dental, vision, pet insurance, commuter benefits, disability and life insurance coverage, 401(k) matching, up to 14 holidays per year, a “Do Good Day,” and unlimited PTO.
