Carbon Health is looking for an experienced Medical Scribe who is excited to take on a new role built around the patient experience end-to-end. Along with our "Connected Care Guides", we are building a virtual-first primary care program that marries accessibility and convenience with comprehensive care and value. As a virtual Connected Care Guide, you'll be the first and last interaction our patients have during their visit, but you'll also provide support during their visit and follow up interactions.

As a member of this growing team, you have a unique opportunity to help shape our virtual-first, outcomes-based care delivery model – from influencing our custom EMR to designing clinical workflows to informing our mobile app experience.   This is a great opportunity to grow your knowledge and experience and build upon this role and team! This is a REMOTE role and open to candidates anywhere in the U.S. Ideal candidates will be located on the east coast, but we will consider all qualified candidates who are comfortable working eastern time zone business hours.
This role is (4) 10 hour days Monday-Thursday 8am-6pm! REQUIRED TRAVEL/PAID TRAINING in Boston, MA December 12-15.

What You'll Do

    • Triage situations & schedule appointments (via phone & video) 
    • Be the centralized point of contact for our virtual patients
    • Introduce the Carbon Health app to patients and help them navigate this new model of care delivery
    • Own the response and actions related to handling faxes, live chats, emails and secure messages via the Carbon Health App
    • Collect and verify insurance information and copayment from patient
    • Complete accurate and exact documentation including: 
    • -patient medical history, history of present illness, review of systems, and physical exam
      -Clinician-dictated diagnoses, procedures and treatments performed, patient education and discharge instructions
    • Administrative work such as writing referrals and preparing lab paperwork
    • Help patients follow through on their care plans e.g check-in with them on their health goals; remind them what they should be tracking.
    • Develop and suggest process improvements that will have a direct impact on the benefit of patients, clinicians, colleagues and overall operations

About You

    • Minimum 1 year or more of defined Medical Scribe experience (specifically Primary or Urgent Care required, virtual a plus)
    •   -Due to the needs of this role, the above is a requirement. Partial scribing in a healthcare role such as Medical Assistant, etc. cannot be considered at this time.
    • Must have a designated workspace free from noise and distraction where you are able to discuss sensitive information
    • Experience using Apple products, including iPads, Mac desktops and Google business Suite apps (ideally in a professional setting)
    • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, providing exceptional friendliness, empathy, and customer service via phone and video 
    • Experience with medical insurance and medical terminology (training is provided)
    • Ability to work well independently and with a team
    • Typing speed of 70+wpm
