What we’re looking for:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Blockchain Educator to join our growing team. As the Senior Blockchain Educator at the Cardano Foundation you will support both internal and external educational programmes. The primary initial target audience for the programmes  will be highly technical engineers. We are looking for an educator who can deep dive into the technical aspects of Cardano and design training material targeted at different levels throughout the Foundation.

The ideal candidate has comprehensive knowledge of the blockchain space and current developments, as well as an aptitude for pedagogy coupled with great interpersonal skills.

Candidate must have in-depth knowledge of Cardano, blockchain architecture , Proof of Stake, Ouroboros,  eUTxO, BIP-39, BIP-32, BIP-44, Cardano Addresses, blockchain related cryptography, native assets, metadata & NFTs, ERC-20 and ERC- 721. Strong knowledge of other blockchains is also required.Previous blockchain development experience is  a must as developers will make up a large portion of the target audience.

What you’ll be doing:

    • Support all new staff with ramping up on all things Cardano, for example: Proof of Stake, eUTxO, BIP/EIP & CIP standards, Native Assets & NFTs, tools & libraries from the ecosystem, to mention a few topics.
    • Drive the design and delivery of an internal training course within the Cardano Foundation.
    • Give frequent on-boarding lectures, designed in a modular fashion so that appropriate modules can be selected depending on the role of the new joiner.
    • Research innovations in the blockchain industry and provide regular update sessions.
    • Create education material on other blockchains/cryptocurrencies ,  DEFI, tokens, NFTs, oracles, CBDC, stablecoins, history of blockchain, blockchain specific cryptography etc.
    • Design educational material for an external audience.
    • Create feature demonstrations including code examples.
    • Track and assess staff.

Requirements and what we look for in you:

    • PhD or Master in Computer Science or related field.
    • 10+ years of experience in the IT industry.2+ years teaching highly technical content, preferably lecturing in a university.
    • 3+ years in the crypto/blockchain industry.
    • Excellent knowledge of the Cardano blockchain at all levels.
    • Strong knowledge of the blockchain landscape and differences between projects.
    • Comfortable explaining complex cryptography topics. E.g. Elliptic-curve cryptography (ECC), BIP-32 Child key derivation etc.
    • Must be motivated by teaching and inspiring students.
    • You are kind and respectful of others’ opinions and you are open and act with integrity when engaging in academic or technical discussions.
    • Native level English language and communication skills. 
    • Self motivated, independent and well organized. Someone who works well independently and within a team.

Nice to haves:

    • Academic research performed on blockchain technology.
    • Experience with Smart Contract development.
