Cardata is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Infrastructure team. In this role, you will build and manage a team responsible for the backbone of our technology, helping to drive our growth and scalability. You bring proven experience as an Engineering Manager in a start-up environment, with the ability to balance hands-on work with strategic delegation to foster knowledge sharing and prevent team silos.
What You'll Be Doing
Infrastructure Management & Strategy
Audit and review infrastructure, focusing on budget, security, and deployment pipelines
Partner with the Director of Engineering to build a roadmap for immediate and long-term goals
Develop best practices for knowledge sharing, documentation, and security
Team Building & Leadership
Recruit, mentor, and grow a high-performing team to meet evolving business needs
Conduct regular performance reviews, support career development, and foster a collaborative team environment
Technical Contributions
Participate in team projects, contributing directly when needed to ensure alignment and progress.
Support and lead technical initiatives in scalable, cost-effective cloud infrastructure design
Architecture, Cost, and Security
Refine and optimize cloud infrastructure to reduce costs and improve scalability
Oversee budget and vendor relationships to maximize resource use
Collaborate with security teams to uphold SOC 2 - Type 2 compliance and implement best practices
CI/CD and Deployment
Enhance CI/CD process for rapid and reliable code deployment
Leverage effective communication to collaborate across teams and build a supportive environment
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years in infrastructure engineering, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Strong skills in Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins), and monitoring platforms like Datadog
- Knowledge of networking, security (Zero Trust Security), and systems architecture.
- Proven ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation
- Excellent team management, communication, and emotional intelligence skills
