The hired professional will be reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer, and can be based in the UK (preferably in London) or US (EST coast is preferred, as our headquarters is set in London).

Responsibilities

    • Design, implement and optimize company-wide fraud management strategy and governance,
    • Define fraud prevention programme, controls and capabilities,
    • Set global and entity-level fraud risk appetite for both B2B and B2C customers,
    • Establish and monitor key fraud metrics KPI against internal risk appetite and external processor, issuer and regulatory thresholds,
    • Represent Fraud Programme to external partners (banks, regulators, etc.),
    • Define fraud related procedures for Financial Crime Operations team,
    • Monitor industry and partner trends to proactively recommend control enhancements,
    • Partner with data, product and engineering to execute on strategy and target programme state,
    • Plan, design, monitor and implement risk management processes and programmes, and an enterprise risk management framework across all teams to drive first-line risk awareness and decision-making.
    • Collaborates with all teams to align their risk management strategies, tolerance levels and controls.Plan, design, monitor and implement the firm’s business continuity and resilience framework.

Requirements

    • +10 years of experience in fraud detection and risk management, including 5 years in fintech and leadership position,
    • Practical knowledge of UK and US fraud regulatory matters,Working knowledge of analytical tools, SQL, and operational databases, is a must,
    • Experience gained both in well established financial institutions or finance-related companies, as well as in start up or scale up environment,
    • Ability to work both strategically as well as operationally - you will be responsible for putting foundations to our fraud and risk operations,
    • Competency of building or rebuilding processes and ways of working from the scratch,
    • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders with excellent communication skills,
    • Experience in representing the company to external institutions as well as to the board,
    • Ability to decision and act quickly under tight deadlines and competing priorities,
    • Ability to thrive in a start-up environment, with a positive can-do attitude, comfortable working with senior management,
    • A master’s degree in a relevant field or higher education is preferred.
