The Product Manager role plays a pivotal role in executing the product strategy for Careology's digital cancer care solutions, managing the roadmap for a comprehensive digital product offering that empowers decisions between patients and clinicians. Working with senior leadership, this role understands and translates business strategy into product strategy, ensuring it delivers significant outcomes for patients and the healthcare ecosystem. This involves a blend of strategic planning, user-centric design, agile development, and regulatory compliance. The Product Manager collaborates with internal teams, external partners, and end users to deliver high-quality, impactful digital products that improve the lives of people affected by cancer and the professionals supporting them.
Key Responsibilities, Summary:
- Collaborate with peers on the product roadmap executing the vision and corporate strategy set by senior leadership.
- Develop strong relationships with internal partners and multidisciplinary teams, including design, engineering, operations, and marketing to develop and position integrated software solutions that delight customers.
- Participate in and/or lead user feedback sessions to obtain early feedback on new features prior to development.
- Translate complex user, clinical, business, and market demands into well-defined product requirements and ensure understanding from the Engineering team by leading discussions and reviews during scrum sessions.
- Prioritize the product backlog to align with overarching strategic objectives.
- Act as a subject matter expert for the product, ensuring cohesive communication and alignment across all teams.
- Develop visual deliverables, such as flow diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes, to clearly convey concepts and support operations and marketing teams with product launches, announcements/ communications, and rollouts.
- Establish and monitor success metrics for product performance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Stay informed about industry trends to maintain a competitive edge for your product.
- Promote product visibility and impact across all organizational departments.
Details, Product Strategy:
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership and industry experts to translate company strategy into product strategy using quantitative and qualitative user research, competitive analysis, digital health trends, and clinical/technological advancements.
- Opportunity Capture: Identify, organize, and prioritize product enhancement opportunities, incorporating internal and external feedback.
- Prioritization and Roadmaps: Develop and maintain a prioritization framework for the product backlog. In conjunction with senior leadership, create and manage annual product roadmaps for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure alignment with senior leadership and team buy-in.
- Delivery: Take direct responsibility for delivering on product roadmap timelines and commitments based on assigned OKRs.
Product Discovery, Design, and User Research:
- Product Planning: In conjunction with peers, develop and communicate quarterly and sprint-level plans to the product development team to provide motivation, clarity, and excitement around the plans and impact of our work.
- Backlog Management: Manage the development backlog, balancing new features with improvements, technical debt, infrastructure work, and bug fixes.
- Product Ownership: Guide the development team as product owner. Use storytelling, clear product specifications, and quick clarifications to address unexpected challenges and effort/value trade-offs.
- Quality Assurance: Engage with developers during Show & Tell to ensure high product quality.
- Process Improvement: Implement processes and systems for the daily management of core product work (i.e., feedback collection, prioritisation, product specification writing, feature management).
Product Growth, Marketing, Analytics, and Metrics:
- Sales, Operations, and Marketing Support: Provide relevant product information to support internal and client-facing activities (e.g., screenshots, mockups, prototypes, copy, case studies, whitepapers, emails) and actively contribute to content reviews to ensure content is correct and matches product capabilities.
- Product Communications: Maintain product communications tooling such as customer email platforms until this responsibility can be handed to Marketing.
- Support Engineering in setting up and maintaining the customer data warehouse to fuel our larger product strategy agenda.
- Maintain product analytics tooling and enable the wider team to self-serve data about product usage.
- Deliver regular reports and metrics on key performance indicators for all products, including supporting client reporting dashboards and engagement metrics in collaboration with the Operations team.
- Track the impact of product launches on key metrics.
- Analyze data on user flows, feature usage, and adoption patterns.
- Monitor product usage to identify and report critical issues.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant technical, scientific, or quantitative field.5+ years of product management experience, preferably in healthcare IT, biotechnology, or software; experience in oncology a plus.
- User-centric mindset with active listening and empathy skills to engage vulnerable patient populations and professionals supporting them.
- Proven ability to conceptualize and deliver exceptional software solutions.
- Strong background in Agile methodologies and full lifecycle software project management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and convey technical topics to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders and deliver quality products/features on time.
- Strong understanding of the healthcare industry, including healthcare data interoperability standards and IT security best practices.
- Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks related to product development and deployment in a healthcare setting.
- Experience with software tools like Jira, Product Board, Miro, Slack, Figma, Mixpanel, and Google Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise software or business-critical systems.
- Experience planning, managing, and leading complex technology projects in a fast-paced environment, preferably start-ups and scale-ups.
- Ability to understand business strategy and formulate a product strategy that aligns with it.
- Experience conducting and analyzing user research sessions.
- Experience with competitor analyses and product performance analytics.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR).Experience building GenAI products.
- Experience with CRM / email tools like Stripo and customer.io, design platforms like Canva.
- Experience leveraging AI platforms and capabilities in product discovery and management such as Notion, Loveable, Gemini and NotebookLM, ChatGPT, etc.
