About the Role

Join Careology at an exciting time as we shape the future of digital cancer care! We are a product-focused company dedicated to empowering patients and clinicians with innovative technology to improve lives. As a Product Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the product strategy and roadmap for our digital solutions, helping to deliver impactful tools for people affected by cancer and the healthcare professionals who care for them. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to meaningful work in a dynamic healthtech environment, with a particular focus on delivering a pivotal Member Navigation Platform for a key client, aiming to transform traditional cancer care and expand into multi-specialty support, including musculoskeletal and cardiovascular areas. This initiative is crucial for our client’s strategic goals and addresses critical challenges such as inefficient outreach, data accuracy issues, lack of a unified patient overview, and limited reporting and analytics.

Careology leads this project end-to-end, owning product design, specification, quality assurance (QA), and delivery, utilizing a hybrid build model with a trusted technology partner. The platform will enhance member identification, patient outreach and engagement, care coordination workflows, and reporting and analytics for patients with complex medical needs within the client’s ecosystem. The project has an ambitious Minimum Viable Product (MVP) timeline of approximately 5–6 months, with a focus on phased delivery and early value realization.

This role is being offered as a six-month fixed-term contract in the first instance. However, we are hopeful that this will be extended beyond the initial period and potentially evolve into a permanent position.

Background

Careology has a long-standing and strategic relationship a key client in the U.S. healthcare market. Following successful deployments across several healthcare sites, we are now collaborating to build the next-generation Member Navigation platform—an advanced, patient-first solution that will replace two legacy systems currently used to manage members across their health plans. This initiative represents a major step forward in delivering connected, data-driven, and personalized oncology support at scale, combining the client’s population health expertise with Careology’s proven digital innovation.

Key Requirements:

    • Leading Product Strategy & Requirements: Lead the product design, specification, and overall delivery of the Member Navigation Platform. You will work closely with the client to deeply understand their detailed requirements, desired workflows, and technical specifications, especially during the discovery phase. Work closely with Careology Product & Engineering leadership to establish and follow a disciplined roadmap with iterative delivery milestones.
    • Deep User Empathy & Problem Understanding: Maintain a user-centric mindset with active listening and empathy skills to engage vulnerable patient populations and healthcare professionals, effectively identifying and addressing both spoken and unspoken needs. Possess a pragmatic approach and the ability to deeply understand the problem, the user experience, and the domain (cancer care and Careology’s support of the client’s musculoskeletal and cardiovascular areas).
    • Defining Programs & Workflows: Collaborate to define specific programs, requirements, and custom documentation needs. This includes establishing rule-based engines and trigger-based workflows (e.g., automating escalations based on patient status), and supporting the creation of custom forms with payer-specific templates.
    • Module Definition & Customization: Work with the client's operations managers to define and refine modules for care coordination, ensuring flexibility for customization without requiring coding. You will oversee the creation of a library of templates for various programs and clinical disciplines.
    • Feature Prioritization & Roadmapping: Contribute to the prioritization of features for the MVP (Phase 1) launch, which includes absolute must-haves like risk-stratified patient intake, basic phone outreach documentation, batch patient enrollment, flexible care coordination, and core integrations. You will also plan for should-have and could-have functionality for subsequent phases, such as future AI/ML enhancements and telehealth integration.
    • User Experience (UX) Guidance: Guide the UX/UI design process to ensure a unified and user-friendly experience across all relevant portals (Member Navigation, Admin Portal, and Careology Professional), facilitating the seamless integration of Careology's custom UI on top of TQ.Tag's interface, plus an easy transition between the Member Navigation platform and Careology Professional (for oncology patients).
    • Collaboration & Oversight: Provide development oversight and ensure adherence to quality gates. You will work closely with TQ.Tag and Careology's internal development and QA teams, ensuring effective communication and alignment throughout the project.
    • Operational Readiness: Work with the Client Success team to support user training for the new platform. You will also prepare for phased delivery with iterative releases for testing and feedback, aiming for early value realization.
    • Data & Integrations: Oversee the ingestion and display of stratified patient data from our client. You will also be responsible for integrating with third-party systems such as Genesys (for call system integration), fax and postal services (for automated letter generation), and Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) files (for medication data).
    • AI/ML Integration: Work closely with Careology’s existing Product team to integrate AI/ML capabilities for enhanced risk stratification, predictive and prescriptive analytics, next-best-action guidance for navigators, call preparation, transcription, and conversational interfaces (e.g., Ask Careology for FAQs and research support).
