The Opportunity
Position Summary:
Under close supervision, and in accordance with established policies, procedures and care plans, performs a variety of routine client care support activities to optimize the functional abilities of residents. Duties may include assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADL), instructing craft classes, assisting with social events, group exercises and games. Responsible for other related duties as required.
Program Summary:
Day Hospital – a community-based program for seniors who are experiencing a mix of physical, mental, emotional and social concerns. The emphasis is on assessment and treatment within a short-term, goal-based program. The program consists of education, support, and a variety of therapies.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from Grade 12.
- Current and active Basic Life Support Provider CPR is required.
- PCA, Certificate in leisure activities or equivalent.
- Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
- Related experience in a hospital or continuing care facility is preferred;
- Geriatric experience is an asset;
- Program specific training/experience is an asset
