The Opportunity

Position Summary:
Carewest is excited to offer the new position of a Quality Improvement Nurse Clinician at Carewest Sarcee. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Nurse Clinician in concert with the leadership team will be responsible for continuous improvement within the site to support high performing clinical teams that are focused on adult physical rehabilitation within the post-acute and long-term care units.

Bi-weekly Hours: 77.50
FTE: 1.00
Shift: Days
Shift Times: 0800-1615
Union: UNA
Rate of Pay: $ 40.52 - $ 53.91


Required Qualifications:

    • Required:
    • Graduation from a recognized nursing program
    • Bachelor's of Nursing
    • Preferred: 
    • Master’s degree
    • Specialty Canadian Nursing certification such as: Canadian Medical Surgical nursing certificate (CMSN(C))
    • Registration with the CARNA required. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)

Required Experience:

    • Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience within the last 5 years
    • Experience with the implementation of evidence-based practice
    • Experience with Netcare, MS Office (Outlook, Power point, Excel, Visio)
    • Previous experience with quality improvement, data analysis, program evaluation, systems thinking and change management
    • Demonstrated knowledge of adult teaching principles
    • Demonstrated and enhanced communication skills and abilities
    • Ability to develop or aid in development of education resources and presentation for colleagues, staff and stakeholders
    • Experience working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, including physicians
    • Experience actively participating or leading change processes
    • Experience mentoring and leading others
    • AHS Alberta Improvement Way (AIW) Process Improvement MyLearningLink Courses

Preferred Experience:

    • Experience with policy and program development
    • Experience in Connect Care
    • PROSCI change certification
    • AHS Alberta Improvement Way (AIW) Yellow belt
    • Lean, Six Sigma methodology
    • Central Venous Catheter certification (CVC)
    • Knowledgeable of Continuing Care Health Standards
