The Opportunity
Position Summary:
The Sr. Clinical QI lead promotes excellence in Carewest with advanced knowledge in evidence-based practice within clinical care, systems leadership and advancement of professional practice, evaluation and research. Reporting to the Executive Director of Quality, Safety & Transformation, the Sr. Clinical QI Lead will work alongside the physicians and care teams at Carewest to understand, inform and lead guideline and protocol development and implementation for best client outcomes. They will review cases, workflows and best practice while consulting with appropriate stakeholders both internal and external to Carewest on system change, following through with planning, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives.
Program summary: This role will work with the physicians within Carewest to identify quality and safety opportunities for sustainable improvements.
Qualifications: Required:
•Completion of a Baccalaureate Degree in a clinical discipline (Nursing, Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy).
•Registration with an appropriate professional college in good standing.
•PROSCI Change Management certification or modules.
•AIW Fundamentals or other continuous improvement methodology training.
Preferred:
•Completion of Masters in a health-related field and/or business, quality, health informatics.
•Indigenous Awareness and Sensitivity training or certificate.
•Alberta Health Services Improvement Way (AIW) Green Belt certification.
Experience: Required:
•Familiarity with AHSecure, ethics governance, and privacy legislation (HIA, ATIA, POPA).
•Minimum 5 years of recent clinical and/or managerial healthcare experience in a complex organization.
•Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and team-building skills.
•Experience in group facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
•Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Connect Care, RLS.
•Experience in data analysis, quality improvement, and accreditation processes.
•Ability to lead change, manage multiple priorities, and work independently and interdependently.
•Knowledge of evidence-based practice, safety methodologies, and knowledge translation.
•Connect Care, RLS proficiency.
Preferred:
•Project management experience an asset.
•Demonstrated ability in planning, implementing and leading change from an evidence based perspective.
