Head of E-commerce and Contract Logistics, GC
Product Management – Logistics /
a) Expert in country facts and knowledge, economic geography skills, competitor information, key and target accounts
b) Overview of all country Contract Logistics management of the warehouse and operate in a cost effective and optimal level
c) Responsible for supporting financial success and profit of the Greater China Contract Logistics.
d) Develop business strategy and marketing plans for Contract Logistics in Greater China over the medium term to ensure that they are aligned with the global strategy and able to achieve the target market position
e) Identify and develop strategies to promote Contract Logistics in all Greater China markets and for the development of new business
f) Promote intra-country/region Contract Logistics business growth and sharing of best practices to take Contract Logistics to higher level in cargo-partner
g) Deep knowledge of supply chain management, logistics operational processes and freight forwarding to develop USP’s and product definition; implementation and product launch; and close connection to business markets
h) Responsible for products sales of the business field services and products
i) Cooperate with the product management on price policy, margins, identification of loss-making customers
j) Provide leadership in regional tenders
a) Deep knowledge of operational processes and good skills in delivery, implementation and product launch; and close contacts with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive rate and services
b) Identify optimization potential, minimize administrative effort and reduce process costs
c) Oversee implementation and integration of business wins
d) Ensure all warehouses across the region adopt high standards of HSE practices and are in compliance with company and state rules and regulations. Provide regular training to maintain warehouse staff’s awareness and compliance to company and state related rules and regulations.
e) Support country Contract Logistics teams to gain creditability international through relevant certification (GMP, ISO 9000 / 9001, Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma and etc.)
f) Build a strong culture in quest for continuous improvement in processes, services and products
g) Maintain a robust subcontractor management process and ensure it is in full compliance with company guidelines
a) Support sales and customer acquisition strategies to win more business by building a strong business culture amongst team members.
b) Perform active sales and business development activities to generate new businesses and grow existing accounts. Own account management for key customers
c) Perform customer visits to build and strengthen relationships, generate new customers base, gain better understanding of customers’ needs, concerns, future needs, monthly/quarterly business reviews, and solutions finding and providing
d) Take regional lead in RFI / RFQ for major tenders
e) Promote Contract Logistics presence and capability to the cargo-partner network.
f) Develop and provide sales promotion materials to enable sales person in winning new business. It may be powerpoint presentation, video, demonstration material, sales literature, business case study and etc.
g) Perform powerful presentation internally/externally to inform, educate, inspire and motivate customers to take action to engage cargo-partner
h) Able to work across boundaries and diversities to achieve one common goal
a) People leadership and manpower planning in cooperation with HR
b) Drive and motivate the team to achieve business targets by building and keeping strong team work spirit at all times
c) Provide coaching, guiding and training opportunities to Contract Logisticsstaff, non- Contract Logistics managers, sales personnel to deepen their knowledge and skills to sell Contract Logistics business and deliver value added services to our customers
d) Train and develop high potential individuals
e) Lead and manage assigned projects
a) Strong communicator in both spoken and written Mandrin & English
b) Act with good faith, in the interest of the company
c) Analytical and detailed minded
d) Systematic approach to problem solving
e) Abide by all company´s internal and legal rules and regulations
f) Show diplomacy when handling conflict situations. Request written opinion and escalate the problem as soon solution is beyond own authority level
g) Use company’s goods and equipment according to their destination, and only in the interest of the job
h) Ensure law-abiding conduct of the company
i) Keep proper and systematic record of all company information and documents
j) Willingness and ability to travel
k) Perform additional tasks, assigned by the employer as per employee’s qualification and role, according to company’s operational need
- Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Management or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years working experiences with 5 years in related area, e.g. Supply China Management, Warehouse Management, Purchasing and Transportation Management. Preferred within Logistics or adjacent industry.
- Experiences in eCom/B2C operations would be an advantage
- Business Development or Account management as a core skill
- Wide experiences and knowledge in operating a warehouse facility for multiple clients.
- Experience in managing staff across multiple departments
- Proven track record in achieveing operational KPI for managed logistics system.
- Basic Project or program roll out experiences
- Knowledge of WMS/TMS
- Proficient in MS office
- LEAN experience is preferred and valued
- Excellent command in written and oral English
- Process of Market intelligent
- Self starter and go extra miles
- Can do attitude
- Team player
- Good presentation, communication and interpersonal skill sets
- Self motivated and able to work under pressure
