SEA CARGO DEPARTMENT HEAD

Commercial Aspect
· Manage and responsible on financial result of all profit centres related to Sea Import/Export/FCL/LCL
· Set target and budget for achieving budget targets defined for the department
· Responsible for correct and compliant, report handling
· To for set-up and continuous improvement of work-flow and operational procedures within the department
· KPIs check Product Development / Management
· Implementing corporate and national product strategy and SOPs within own department
· Development of the business within own profit centre - gain additional business from existing or new clients
· LCL: Creation of Consol lifting reports to manage our DIRECT CONSOLS
 
Operational Responsibility
· Own handling of Sea Import/Export FCL/LCL transports, in compliance with the company’s rules, SOPs and management instructions
· Responsible for the compliance of each physical and electronic transport file (own and team members): collecting all legally and internally required documents and updating all required systems for each handled shipment
· Informing and collecting information from clients, suppliers, agents, partners, customs bodies regarding the handled transports
· Responding to requests for quotation with appropriate solution and price offer, within the timeline defined by the company (GD “Quotation Speed”)
· Supervising on issuing invoices to clients as soon as the service is completed
· Supervising on receiving and handling invoices from suppliers for the handled transports
· Supervising on handling damages and deficits of shipments according to relevant SOPs, immediate communication of the problems related to handled transports to the superior
· Supervision of the department’s employees activity and handled Sea transports; troubleshooting and/or escalation where required
· Tenders
· Quote tracker Sales responsibility
· Conducting client visits, his/hers own or jointly with Sales
· Offering full support to Sales in finding appropriate transport solution for their requests and a competitive rate
· Following up the offers and collecting feedback from the client or Sales
· Informing other offices about potential business in their region (sales leads)
 
Leadership responsibility
· Conducting appraisal interviews with direct subordinates according to company policy
· Responsible for the continuous check and update of job specific knowledge of team members, suggesting trainings when needed
· Participating in the recruitment process of new employees within the department (GD minimum productivity KPIs)
· Responsible for the on boarding and training of new team members
· Setting performance targets for each direct subordinate and evaluating them periodically (quarterly)
· Responsible for the compliance of department´s employees with the company rules
