As we look to continue our growth, we are looking for a Ocean Procurement Manager to our winning team in Hong Kong.
What you will do:
- Perform all procurement activities including pre-qualification, supplier agreements negotiation, contracts preparation/promotion and rate enquiries handling for defined region / trade lane
- Liaise with key company employees to determine their product and service needs
- Develop strong relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business
- Identify areas for improvement to continually drive performance and formulate procurement strategies
- Monitor the performance of the carriers in terms of FCL and strive for service reliability & continuous improvement
- Monitor POL’s loading commitments for core carriers vs POL’s shipment forecast
- Plan, direct and meet budgeted targets in service level commitment, process efficiency and cost effectiveness and ensure continuous growth for the company
- Share market knowledge including SCFI on weekly basis for ocean freight (FEWB)
- Support origin and destination offices/agents to solve rate filing related issues with carriers at regional level for core carriers
- Support setting up ASPAC Procurement guidelines and procedures for risk management and mitigation
- To take up additional assignments/tasks as required to meet with the Company needs.
The right candidate:
- Excellent contacts to ocean carriers and maritime service providers
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and analytical skills
- Purchasing/Operations Management or equivalent with over 6 years management level experiences of the industry
- Strong communication skills in term of English, Cantonese and Mandarin
- Passion for transport and logistics
