Cartography Biosciences is a therapeutics organization creating the first atlas to identify targets that are specific enough to only engage cancerous cells, broad enough to work across cancer cells and patients, and safe enough to sidestep toxic side effects. Founded by Kevin Parker, Howard Chang, and Ansu Satpathy, Cartography is bridging immunology and computation to understand the critical differences between normal and cancerous cells, ultimately solving the challenge of finding the safest, most selective targets for a variety of immunotherapeutic approaches. 

Our Computational Team is seeking an experienced and driven Computational Biologist to to help build and advance our cell therapy platform capabilities. Reporting to one of our Sr. Scientists, your primary responsibility in this role will be to build upon existing systems to identify, process, QC, and track relevant internal and external next-gen sequencing datasets to ensure that useable data can be rapidly accessed for analysis.

What You'll Do:

    • Work with Computational Biology scientists to develop, implement, and maintain cloud pipelines for processing multi-omics data.
    • Design systems to track and enable data access to relevant parties company-wide.
    • Help design and implement novel methods for processing proprietary data modalities.
    • Create infrastructure and applications to support both inward and outward visualization of data.
    • Support computational team ingestion of both internal and external datasets
    • Work with DevOps to design best practices for data storage and redundancy

About You:

    • M.S or B.S with 2+ years of experience in a relevant domain (STEM)
    • Experience with workflow “pipelining” languages/packages (e.g., WDL, Nextflow, snakemake) and Docker.
    • Experience with version control systems (i.e., Git)
    • Competency in Python and R.
    • Experience building visualization applications with R or Python (i.e. Shiny/Dash)
    • Experience with cloud computing (AWS, GCP, etc.)
    • Proficiency in biology (oncology, immunology, or other areas of clinical relevance) and NGS techniques
    • Experience working with RNA (bulk and single-cell methods) is strongly preferred
    • Strong communication skills, presentation, and visualization skillsets
    • Experience interacting with diverse scientific teams
