Position Overview 
Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, the Business Analyst will own and drive strategic initiatives, deliver thoughtful analysis, and drive insights to support the growth and advancement of the business. The ideal candidate will become a subject matter expert on the systems that support the advancement of operational efficiency. Most importantly, they will continually analyze systems and workflows that support decision-making to allow us to continue to build a world-class investment platform. The ideal candidate will be able to use data to drive commercial, objective insights to help understand and chart a path through complex business opportunities.  The role will require a growth-oriented individual who thrives in a flexible, iterative environment, with exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to develop productive relationships across all levels and functions within Casdin.

Responsibilities

    • With guidance from the CTO, independently drive projects that support various business initiatives across the entire Firm.
    • Oversee targeted business projects from end to end, including planning, requirements gathering, analysis, development, team enablement, and ongoing ownership.
    • Operate as a subject matter expert on Casdin Systems, including the Firm’s CRM and Research software platforms,  to support and train users on systems functionality, own key performance indicators, and maintain data quality.
    • Deliver objective, commercial, & data-driven analysis and insights that lead to more efficient workflows across all departments.
    • Shadow business users to drive process re-engineering, brainstorming, and iteration on ideas to help create more efficiency.
    • Proactively work with stakeholders to drive system usage and seek operational efficiencies.
    • Work with others in technology and across business areas to minimize data quality issues and drive projects to improve.
    • Act as a point of contact for key vendors and service providers.
    • Effectively present information to help inform and provide insights for key stakeholders across all departments.
    • Provide support for the development of new business initiatives, including the analysis and insights that support the investment narrative.
    • Leverage tools such as PowerBI or Tableau to deliver interactive dashboards and/or design and deliver reports, working with others in technology.
    • Provide support and interim solutions for key business processes, including data consistency and marketing/research data sourcing.

Requirements/Qualifications

    • Preferred candidates will have 5+ years of experience with a preferred background in hedge funds, private equity, or management consulting.
    • Candidates should have completed at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a relevant area.
    • Highly proficient with Excel.  Python, SQL, and data visualization (Tableau/PowerBI) skills are a plus.
    • Knowledge of CRMs, Research Management Systems, Trading Systems, & HRIS systems preferred.
    • Proficient in MS Office, Google Suite, or other workflow tools.
    • Fluency in business analysis and strategic recommendations, with a strong ability to clearly articulate key insights in a presentation format.
    • Ability to take an idea, assess it, build it into a plan, and drive the plan through to execution.
    • Driven by a problem-solving and efficiency mindset, with a passion to collaborate and reach desired outcomes.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships across all levels of the firm.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including PowerPoint presentation ability.
    • Resourceful, persistent, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, flexible, and dynamic environment.
    • Ability to work independently, with a strong sense of ownership and entrepreneurial spirit.
$125,000 - $175,000 bimonthly
The minimum and maximum base annual salary for this role is $125,000 to $175,000. Actual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, past performance, education, and other job-related factors. In addition to base salary compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, and successful candidates are eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus.
