We are looking for a passionate Machine Learning Engineer who wants to advance the cutting edge in natural language understanding and apply it to improving our justice system.

You will be working on a wide array of projects ranging from improving the performance and relevance of our search engine, language generation and question answering tasks, to helping streamline models for production.


    • Understand problems in legal tech and design machine learning based solutions to solve them.
    • Work with engineering teams, when appropriate, to get solutions into use.
    • Keep up to date with the latest natural language understanding techniques.
    • Implement, train and deploy machine learning models.
    • Optimize model throughput in production.

    • MS/PhD degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field
    • Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, Bash)
    • Demonstrated experience designing and training deep learning models in one of the main deep learning frameworks and related tools.
    • Ability to work with messy structured and unstructured datasets and perform exploratory and statistical data analysis. 


    • PhD degree in computer science, mathematics, or a quantitative field.
    • Experience deploying distributed machine learning systems on AWS or Google Cloud Platform
    • Good understanding of Transformer architectures and information retrieval techniques.
    • Bonus points if proficiency in a compiled language (Scala, Java, Rust).
    • Legally authorized to work in the US
