About the Role
As a Principal Engineer, you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to facilitate and guide the development of trail-blazing innovative solutions. You will build capabilities that are fit for purpose and make the most out of the numerous resources available across the business.
You will contribute to creating an outstanding team culture by role modelling a collaborative approach to working with team members, offering leadership, support, mentoring and guidance, particularly to Engineers.
Your Focus
- Design, code, fix and debug software
- Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders across the organization and third parties produce solutions that meet business requirements.
- Design and deliver cloud-based solutions, providing technical leadership and mentoring across multiple developer squads, guiding teams as they scale up for transformation delivery.
- Train, mentor and evangelize best practices to software engineers.
- Guide conversations to remove blockers and encourage collaboration across teams.
- Produce and update technical design documentation artefacts
- Carry out Discovery and POC work to de-risk implementation of new technology initiatives.
- Assist Solution Architect(s) in decision making and communicating designs to squads
About You
- Experience in one or more of the following programing languages C#, NodeJs, Javascript
- Relational Document and NoSQL Databases
- You will have a background in software development and cloud engineering with exposure to CI/CD tools, cloud platforms & tooling (AWS,GCP or Azure)
- experience in developing and designing cloud solutions.
- experience developing high traffic transactional systems.
- Demonstrated experience in Software engineering - ideally with experience in Finance, FinTech, Retail or eCommerce environments
- Experience in designing architecture to support front-end customer applications – including web and mobile apps.
- Experience working on transformation projects from monolithic environments to micro services and serverless based infrastructure would be ideal.
- Exposure to digital, customer and marketing technologies within architectures is desirable – particularly marketing automation, digital analytics, customer data and mobile notification services
