Job Overview

As a Data Scientist, you’ll join our growing Analytics team to help execute the company's vision on the "science" side of our suite of solutions. We use data to identify business opportunities and increase revenue for our clients (ski resorts, amusement parks, waterparks, zoos, museums, family & adventure parks, etc.).

The primary role of the Analytics team is to create and manage dynamic pricing strategies for our clients. You will become an expert in Spotlio’s current pricing model and philosophy. As we seek to expand into new industries and modernize our pricing engine, you will play a critical role in evolving our strategy by leading market analyses. On the technical side, you will help develop a new technical implementation of our pricing model, one that is scalable, user-friendly, and reliable.

Additionally, the Analytics team owns all aspects of Spotlio’s data. You will build and analyze reports and data visualizations for both internal and external users. As needed, you will complete data engineering tasks such as data cleaning, ETL, and population of database tables. At times this may involve working with unique sales and revenue data from prospects or clients. You will be responsible for performing data analyses, including machine learning models when appropriate, and clearly and concisely communicating your findings to project stakeholders and team leads.

This position involves occasional direct communication with clients, which requires expert communication and active listening skills. The Analytics team is based in Python and utilizes other programming tools as needed to proactively enable any team in the company to become more efficient and reduce manual time spent on their tasks.

Successful candidates will be motivated by the unknown, eager to find better ways of assisting our clients, excited to be involved in the planning of our team’s future projects and goals, and able to be nimble and fast-moving rather than procedural and regimented.

Company Values

    • Customer-centric(V3): Placing the customer at the center of everything you do is key for long-term success. This involves actively listening to customer feedback, understanding their needs and pain points, and continuously working to improve their experience with your product or service.
    • Innovation (V4): Ambition is not just a buzzword for us: we aim to grow the right way. Innovating means changing the way we work - we may be nonconformist, but our products are trustworthy and reliable.
