The Country Manager - LATAM is the profit and loss owner and operational lead for developing the LATAM market for the Catena Sports and Casino Verticals. The Country Manager - LATAM is responsible for the strategic development and execution of initiatives that will enhance the development of this key growth region. Being one of the leaders of the Emerging Market division, the Country Manager - LATAM is expected to have full ownership of the LATAM-facing products within Catena Media and will be a key stakeholder for all company cross-initiatives that impact the region.

The Country Manager - LATAM is tasked with generating revenue by leading a high-performing team, creating and executing LATAM-first projects, securing strategic partnerships, and enhancing the company’s presence in the rapidly evolving geographical landscape.This role exists to establish and lead a competitive casino and sports-betting offering, drive engagement within the target audience on different channels, and leverage the growing market for revenue generation.

YOUR CHALLENGE:


    • Strategic Planning
    • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies aligned with the company’s overall business objectives
    • Identify opportunities for growth and revenue generation 
    • Monitor regional landscape and develop competitor analyses when needed, with actionable recommendations
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and competitor activities to enable strategic decision-making and to act as the trigger of the company innovation effort
    • Keep a top-level view on overall performance on all stages of the funnel, based on the insights of the experts (SEO, Commercial, BO etc) and use them for revenue analysis and strategic steering
    • Provide regular insights and reports to GM, as requested or on an as needed basis.
    • Budget Management
    • Take ownership and committed responsibility for P&L management for the LATAM division, products and related services.
    • Plan and manage the LATAM budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effectiveness
    • Monitor expenses and revenue streams related to the LATAM sites and initiatives
    • Be responsible for the revenue targets achievements of the LATAM department and constantly analyse the data to set/correct the strategic direction
    • Provide regular financial reports and updates to GM of Emerging Markets
    • Team & Operations Management
    • Lead a dedicated team specializing in multidisciplinary fields such as content creation, media, SEO and product development. Guide them and ensure a high-performing standard to achieve results
    • Be the engine around innovative actions and opportunities that will contribute to the department’s growth (and the company’s, if relevant)
    • Supervise the operational initiatives (content, SEO, social, product etc) making sure business priorities and ROI are taken into account
    • Collaborate directly or indirectly with commercial, tech and other internal and external teams to achieve revenue targets, enhance the success of your department and generate value for the company at large
    • Collaborate constantly with other regional leaders to develop go-to market strategies or adapt proven business models to new markets 
    • Work closely with the GM of Emerging Markets to develop and deliver the overall strategy for growth
    • Data Analysis
    • Utilize data analytics to assess the performance of your products, campaigns and initiatives, and make data-driven decisions
    • Identify key performance indicators (KPIs), communicate them to the relevant stakeholders, while implementing actionable plans and guidelines to improve results
    • Analyze data and develop workarounds to improve conversion rate and come up with pragmatic solutions
    • Regulatory Compliance
    • Stay informed about regulations and legal considerations relevant to your region and the iGaming industry at large
    • Ensure the company products and activities (especially related to the LATAM audience) comply with industry standards and legal requirements
    • Work closely with legal and compliance stakeholders on alignment and best practices for partnerships and regulatory standards. Communicate feedback to the team and the leadership group
    • Ensure best practice and compliance of all products

Leadership and team management responsibilities:

    • Managing team performance effectively through the practicing of ongoing performance management, including conducting performance reviews and regular 1-1 meetings
    • Leading by example by delivering positive results and being a visible Catena ambassador
    • Communicating effectively and ensures information is delivered in a clear and timely manner
    • Taking ownership of recruitment and selection for your team by working closely with HR and TA teams
    • Enabling team and individual growth from induction stage to ongoing learning and development
    • Any other adhoc tasks which may be assigned by management from time to time

TO DO IT, YOU WILL NEED:

    • Previous experience in a similar Country Manager role within iGaming - Must
    • Deep experience in marketing sports /casino gambling in LATAM either working for an operator or major affiliate 
    • Previous experience building and managing P&L
    • Advanced abilities in terms of revenue analysis
    • Understanding of funnel and conversion optimization - Advantage
    • Strong business drive and result orientation
    • Demonstrable track record in strategic planning and project management
    • Experience in leading data-driven strategies to turn a vision into an actionable roadmap
    • Background leading cross-functional teams, including tech, product owners, SEO and marketing teams
    • Ability to multitask, and manage conflicting priorities in a hectic environment
    • Proactive and driven approach
    • Attentive but enabling leadership
    • Team player attitude, with broad views on how to bring value to the company
    • Native/Fluent level in Spanish, Portuguese - Strong advantage
    • Fluent level in English - Must
    • Availability to work at least partially in European/Brazilian office hours
