The Content Manager, Lottery is responsible for leading a team of managing editors and writers in executing, and  monitoring  key metrics for Catena Media Lottery sites. Working with the Head of Casino and Director of Content and Strategy to develop the strategy and KPI, the content manager will train their team on strategies, provide feedback and guidance and manage the implementation of defined strategies to achieve key performance indicators.


    • Work with the Head of Casino and Director of Content and Strategy to develop and deliver a content strategy that aligns with the company’s short- and long-term goals.
    • Oversee a content calendar that includes news, educational, and authority-building content for assigned sites.
    • Edit, update and improve posts and pages when necessary and optimize content according to established SEO strategies.
    • Perform regular content audits and feedback to ensure SEO and content guidelines are followed.
    • Monitor and analyze key metrics for assigned sites, identify opportunities for improvement and coordinate with the senior content manager to implement strategies focused on improving site rankings and organic traffic.
    • Work with managing editors to grow a site’s authority with a newsfeed reporting on relevant local news and events. 
    • Ensure brand consistency by communicating brand guidelines with managing editors and writers.
    • All other duties as assigned.
    • Primary responsibilities for the first six months:
    • Site analysis and developing a content plan that aligns with the high-level strategy. 
    • Develop a news content plan that aligns with vision and strategy. 
    • Research (SERP analysis) and create outlines. 
    • Assigning and ordering content from a freelance team. 
    • Working with Copy Editor, WP Manager and SEO to prep pages.
    • Publishing and linking content.
    • Monitoring and reporting on growth metrics.
    • Quarterly strategy sessions with Cheryle or Head of Casino to determine goals / KPIs with the initial build and updating on targets
    • Staying current with legislation and reporting up

Leadership and team management responsibilities:

    • Managing team performance effectively through the practicing of ongoing performance management, including conducting performance reviews and regular 1-1 meetings
    • Leading by example by delivering positive results and being a visible Catena ambassador
    • Communicating effectively and ensuring information is delivered in a clear and timely manner 
    • Taking ownership of recruitment and selection for your team by working closely with HR and TA teams 
    • Enabling team and individual growth from induction stage to ongoing learning and development 


    • Proven work experience editing and publishing content using WordPress.
    • Strong knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics.
    • Detail-oriented work style, organizational expert; strong time management and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and people management skills.
    • Experience working in WordPress is preferred but not required.
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including knowledge of AP style guidelines.
    • The ability to manage multiple projects, communicate progress, and identify challenges is important. 
    • Advanced degree in Journalism, Marketing٫ or relevant field.
