SCOPE & GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: 

The Inbound Marketing Specialist supports the marketing team as a writer, editor, and analyst. The Inbound Marketing Specialist generates content ideas from keyword research, traffic data, and industry trends, and then produces content for the CBT Nuggets blog, marketing campaigns, and lead generation efforts. The Inbound Marketing Specialist serves as an editor and writer for a wide range of marketing products, including blog posts, landing page and email copy, whitepapers, social media, and press releases. Responsibilities include analyzing traffic and keyword data to develop high-impact content, planning and executing traffic- and lead-generation strategies, identifying new opportunities to generate awareness and increase conversion rates, and coordinating with teams across the department and organization to develop marketing content.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS:

    • Increase traffic to CBT Nuggets web properties
    • Number of quality leads generated
    • Number of leads converted to free week signups
    • Number of free week sign ups converted to signups
    • Increased usage of products/features by learners
    • Increased satisfaction of learners based on clear, direct communication
    • Number of renewals

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Identify traffic-generating opportunities from industry trends, keyword research and traffic datasets
    • Develop blog topics from keyword research
    • Plan, develop, and implement weekly blog content campaigns
    • Manage marketing contract writers to develop quality marketing content
    • Coordinate with Learning Content team to align blog content with course releases
    • Coordinate with trainers to develop blog content for course promotion
    • Coordinate with Design team to develop blog and social graphics, whitepapers, and other marketing assets
    • Analyze and edit marketing content based on SEO research
    • Plan and execute SEO and backlink projects with contractors and internal stakeholders
    • Use advanced analytics tools to measure impact of work on traffic and revenueAssist execution of lead generation efforts including research, writing, editing, and content coordination
    • Layout, design, and edit content within InDesign templates
    • Plan, write, and edit blog posts, emails, whitepapers, and YouTube descriptions
    • Plan, write, and edit course descriptions in coordination with the Learning Content team
    • Plan, write, and edit government RFPs in coordination with the Sales and Legal teams
    • Plan, write, and edit scripts for YouTube videos in coordination with video producers
    • Gather information, write content, and release monthly internal newsletter
    • Maintain a comprehensive list of every IT certification and certification exam
    • Maintain and update content for various marketing landing pages, whether for features or promotions
    • Edit and QA marketing and system emails as needed
    • Edit and QA marketing landing pages as needed
    • Edit course descriptions and video descriptions in coordination with UX and Learning Content teams
    • Collaborate with Sales and Learner Experience teams to develop content for tradeshows
    • Coordinate, write, and schedule new course announcement wire releases 
    • Attend and participate in all marketing campaign team meetings

SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES/EDUCATION:

    • Education & Experience: 
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or related field or equivalent with 3-5 years of comparable experience; or a combination of education and experience.
    • Additional Skills:
    • Business and creative writing skills.
    • Keep up with video industry trends and technology.
    • Possess good organization and time management skills to produce high quality products with tight deadlines.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

    • This position is a full-time (40 hours per week) salaried position, exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
    • Compensation is dependent on experience and skill level
