Preferred Qualifications:
- An understanding of common security risks posed by third-party vendors, especially software.
- Solid understanding of authentication and authorization frameworks.
- Familiarity with SSO/SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect protocols.
- Experience identifying the use of generative AI within third-party products and assessing associated risks.
- A thoughtful approach to technical analysis and the ability to quickly assess new platforms.
- Knowledge of ticketing systems such as Jira, and the ability to learn new technologies or establish workarounds quickly.
- Experience working in a remote team environment.
Certifications:
o CompTIA Security+
o Azure AZ-500 (Azure Security Engineering Associate)
o SC-100 (Cyber Security Architect Expert)
Position Responsibilities:
Compliance Management:
- Help manage System Security Plans (SSPs) and Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs) under the guidance of senior team members.
- Collaborate with internal teams to implement required security controls.
- Regularly examine corporate security policies, standards, and procedures to confirm that technical controls align with existing policies.
Third-Party Risk Management:
- Assist in conducting third party risk assessments and evaluate vendor security controls.
- Work with vendors to address identified risks under the supervision of senior staff.
Security Monitoring and Incident Response:
- Utilize Microsoft Defender, Intune, and other tools to monitor and manage endpoint and network security.
- Respond to security incidents as directed, supporting investigations and remediation efforts.
- Review logs from, Entra ID, firewalls, 3rd Party Saas, and Linux systems to investigate incidents.
- Ability to interpret threat intelligence feeds and apply IOCs (Indicators of Compromise).
- Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework and TTPs of modern adversaries.
Data Protection:
- Understanding of data classification, encryption (at rest/in transit), and DLP (Data Loss Prevention) tools in Microsoft 365.
- Implement and maintain Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies across Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Exchange Online, and Teams.
- Work with business units to define and apply sensitivity labels and information governance policies.
- Conduct risk assessments around data residency, data sovereignty, and cross-border data transfers.
Vulnerability and Risk Management:
- Conduct vulnerability scans and assist in remediation efforts using integrated tolls within the M365 ecosystem.
- Work with the team to remediate identified vulnerabilities effectively.
Security Automation
- Exposure to scripting for security automation (PowerShell, Python preferred).
- Experience with Microsoft Sentinel or other SIEM solutions to build detection rules or alerts.
- Experience with KQL (Kusto Query Language) and Powershell.
