Summary:
We are excited to expand our security team and with that we have a new open role for a Cloud Security Engineer to work alongside a fantastic team. This position will focus on cloud-related technologies and work closely with development and engineering as well as the global cloud team. This position will help ensure that City Electric Supply is well positioned in terms of enterprise-class security standards and tools.
Essential Job Functions:
- Help design and deploy technologies and best security practices for cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Liaison between security team and cloud team to promote security best practices.
- Creation of cloud security guidelines.
- Securely design, develop, implement, and maintain systems across on-prem and cloud environments.
- Design, optimize and manage CSPM.
- Create data reporting and recommendations for resolution/mitigation of any observed security risks and engaging stakeholders as appropriate.
- Build technical solutions required for optimal ingestion, transformation, and loading data from various data sources using open-source, AWS, and Azure.
- Leverage automation and scripting to expedite secure adoption of public cloud.
- Partner with various teams and business units to investigate application and network architecture.
- Work with DevOps to implement secure end-to-end CI/CD pipeline deployments.
- Demonstrate knowledge of container security (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Complete vendor security reviews.
- Engage stakeholders on new projects from a security perspective (such as deployment of a new product, new server builds etc…) as it pertains to the cloud.
- Security technical assessment of all departments internal and external tools.
- Kept up to date on security related events and taking appropriate measures.
- Optimization of security tools.
- Creation of dashboards for security related information.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in cloud security, preferably with hands-on experience in AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms.
- Experience working with cloud security tools such as CSPM, IAM, and container security technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience in scripting and automation, with proficiency in languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Solid understanding of security best practices and frameworks for cloud environments, such as NIST, CIS, and SOC 2.
- Experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines with a focus on security automation.
- Familiarity with security governance, risk, and compliance practices, and conducting vendor security reviews.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with development, engineering, and business units to drive security initiatives.
Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of cloud security principles and practices, including securing cloud infrastructure, applications, and data in multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
- Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate security risks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Proficiency in scripting languages to automate security tasks, workflows, and incident responses in cloud environments.
- Strong ability to work with internal teams, stakeholders, and external vendors to communicate security concerns and collaborate on solutions.
- Ability to approach complex security challenges creatively and effectively, finding practical solutions to mitigate risks and improve security posture.
- Keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in cloud security technologies and practices, and applying that knowledge to enhance organizational security.
- Experience conducting and managing vendor security reviews and assessing third-party risks.
- Skills in creating security dashboards, analyzing data, and producing actionable recommendations for enhancing security measures.

Interview Process:
