We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer who will contribute to the development of our advanced cell therapy manufacturing platform, with a focus on the deployment of software to hardware systems. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of build and release management systems in Azure DevOps.  

The primary focus of this position will be to work closely with the controls and software development teams to implement code deployment workflows, automate build processes, improve source control and design continuous delivery, and continuous integration, and manage build pipelines.

Responsibilities

    • Define and implement strategies for continuous integration and release management to Cellares hardware products
    • Drive the adoption of application deployment strategies
    • Support and improve our tools for continuous integration, automated testing, and release management
    • Act as a technologist to guide development teams through continuous integration adoption and best DevOps practices
    • Create and manage pipelines for PLC and robot code generation, testing, and deployment
    • Work closely with Controls and Software engineers to create end-to-end workflow automation
    • Leverage modern tooling and best practices to instrument proprietary development environments and simulation tools
    • Support distributed software and controls development teams and environments
    • Optimize automated build systems
    • Manage build communication channels and document build procedures
    • Manage and maintain the version control system and all related development tools
    • Ensure implementation and enforcement of defined software configuration management practices
    • Define and ensure naming convention, library, and versioning consistency  

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering or a technical degree with 6+ years of experience
    • Solid understanding and practical experience of software development life cycles, with particular emphasis on build and release engineering functions 
    • Strong scripting/automation expertise (e.g. MS PowerShell)
    • Strong understanding of operating systems, especially Windows and Linux preferred
    • Experience with programming languages such as .Net /C# and C++ preferred
    • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and Azure DevOps
    • Understanding of PLC programming and deployment needs
    • Familiar with the principles of SDLC and methodologies like Agile/Scrum, CI, Good Documentation Practices, Refactoring and Testing Techniques
    • Familiarity with digital certificates (asymmetric cryptography) desired
    • Experience with infrastructure as code, generation of virtualized environments with dependencies on proprietary platforms
    • Experience using Ansible for infrastructure deployment and maintenance
    • Familiar with automated VM management, e.g. packer, vagrant
    • Hand-on experience with imaging/reimaging of Industrial PCs
    • Familiarity with Docker Containers technologies and Kubernetes is a plus
    • Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices, cell therapy, bioprocessing, or instrumentation is highly desirable

$90,000 - $210,000 a year
