About the Position
The position provides valuable learning opportunities, engagement in key decision-making processes, exposure to CentML’s leadership team, and the opportunity to lead strategic projects. Your contributions will directly influence Box’s profitability and scalability. There will be a direct connection between your activities and the company’s success.

This hybrid opportunity is based in CentML’s Downtown Toronto office, with a minimum of 3 days in the office. Business requirements may require office attendance for 5 days/week in the office for extended periods.

Financial Analysis and Reporting:

    • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data, maintaining up-to-date financial records in our general ledger and other data platforms.
    • Conduct ongoing financial analysis to support business decisions.
    • Prepare and present detailed financial and operational reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual performance summaries.
    • Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying trends and variances.

Business Partnership and Relationship Management:

    • Serve as a trusted advisor to business units, providing financial insights and guidance.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and provide financial and operational support.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including department heads and external partners.

Operational Efficiency and Process Execution:

    • Assist in the efficient execution of operational processes, including assisting with People Operations and Office Operations processes
    • Identify opportunities for improving financial processes and operational efficiency.
    • Implement best practices and streamline processes to enhance productivity and accuracy.
    • Lead initiatives to automate financial and business operations processes

Strategic Planning and Decision Support:

    • Assist in the preparation of business cases, financial models, and forecasts to inform strategic decisions.
    • Conduct scenario analysis and risk assessments to evaluate potential outcomes and impacts.
    • Provide actionable recommendations to senior management based on financial data and market trends.

What you’ll need to be successful

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or relevant certification (CPA, FMVA, and other financial modeling certs.) preferred.
    • 2 to 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or operations; some experience in public accounting (audit, financial advisory) is strongly preferred
    • Experience with the typical start-up operating tech stack: accounting (QBO), payroll, accounts payable, spend management, Hubspot, etc.
    • Proven experience in financial analysis, reporting (US GAAP), and modeling
    • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
    • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand and align financial and operational goals with overall business strategy.
