Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) has the fastest, lowest cost path to commercial fusion energy.

CFS collaborates with MIT to leverage decades of research combined with groundbreaking new high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnet technology. HTS magnets will enable compact fusion power plants that can be constructed faster and at lower cost. Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) seeks a sharp, strategic and tactical content marketing manager to join our mission of enabling limitless clean energy.

As Content Marketing Manager reporting to the Head of Content, this is a highly visible role responsible for bringing our groundbreaking fusion technology to the world stage. The ideal candidate will be skilled in creating compelling content, and in managing social media platforms to increase our brand's online presence, engage with our audience, and drive market impact. This team member will:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive content marketing strategy that aligns with the company’s goals, including content creation, distribution, and measurement
    • Manage all content marketing initiatives across multiple platforms and formats to attract and engage investors, customers, policymakers, green tech community members, and scientists
    • Create high-quality, engaging content for our website, blogs, email campaigns, and social media platforms
    • Take charge of the social media strategy, including planning, scheduling, and analyzing social media posts across various channels, primarily LinkedIn, X, and YouTube
    • Engage with followers, respond to comments, and foster a positive community interaction to win allies for our cause and our place in it
    • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts from PhDs in plasma physics to technicians to produce relevant content that resonates with key stakeholders and others in our audience
    • Use SEO tools, user engagement, and performance metrics to find and deliver the best content
    • Use analytical tools to evaluate the end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points
    • Direct the organization-wide content calendar and manage the editorial schedule to ensure timely publication
    • Ensure all content is on brand, consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels of content including online, social media, email, mobile, video, and print

The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these requirements:

    •  4+ years of work experience as a Content Marketing Manager, with additional experience in social media management highly desirable
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
    • Demonstrable experience in designing and implementing successful content marketing and social media campaigns
    • Strong knowledge of content management systems, keyword research tools, social media platforms, and SEO best practices
    • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
    • Ability to analyze data and provide evidence-based recommendations
    • Highly creative with excellent attention to detail
    • Strong project management skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines
    • Boston-based role. No exceptions
    • Agency experience preferred

Additional preferred experience and/or qualifications:

    • Perform activities such as typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time
    • Work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics
    • Willingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionally
