Director of Internal Communications

As the Director of Internal Communications, you will develop and execute an internal communications strategy for Chainlink Labs, linked to the overarching strategy and aligned with the business segments and functions. The communications strategy will focus on implementing and improving ongoing employee engagement activities and corporate social responsibility initiatives that foster a consistent culture across the company.

Your Impact

    • Develop and execute the strategic plan for company-wide internal communications
    • Establish solid understanding of the expectations of each of the diverse audiences within a growing technology company including disparate global audiences and functional teams 
    • Manage content and logistics for quarterly company-wide all-hands meetings
    • Support functional team all-hands through coaching, best practices and recommendations
    • Coordinate the sharing of documents to the employee base with special attention to content and materials that should remain confidential or only within a smaller audience
    • Maintain and evolve the company intranet/wiki, working with teams to update content relevant for the larger organization
    • Draft and manage the distribution of ongoing communications and channels (newsletters, emails, slack messages, etc) to ensure employees hear about critical company news before they read about it externally
    • Develop and execute crisis communications strategy as necessary, including the development of alternate communications vehicles should we lose access to Slack/email/etc.
    • Collaborate with IT to ensure distribution lists and Slack groups are maintained to allow for targeted communications to different levels, teams and other groupings as appropriate
    • Support talent brand initiative by showcasing internal stories to an external audience
    • Activate employees to be brand advocates through the sharing of relevant information that we want employees to amplify with their networks to support recruiting and potential business development
    • In collaboration with legal, develop clear policies on what employees can and can NOT share with external audiences and conduct trainings as part of onboarding


    • 8-12 years experience building and managing a global internal communications function within a rapidly growing organization
    • Excellent written and verbal communicator who can tailor messages to a diverse set of internal audiences
    • Ability to shift between strategy and execution and thrive in a fluid and fast-paced environment
    • Cross-functional experience leading through complexity, with the ability to influence and collaborate with multiple stakeholders at all levels, including active dialogue with a direct and opinionated founder
    • Hands-on experience managing crisis communications in collaboration with the larger communications team, specifically targeting an employee audience
    • Intellectual curiosity and a capacity to learn quickly about a fast-changing industry

Desired/Optional Qualifications

    • Experience and knowledge of the blockchain environment
    • Experience working in an all-remote company (or building an all remote internal communications strategy as part of the Covid working environment)
    • Experience working with a company whose primary audience is developers

This role is location agnostic anywhere in the world, but we ask that you overlap some working hours with Eastern Standard Time (EST).
