In December 2015, Dr. Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg launched the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative with the mission to invest in personalized learning, curing disease and building strong communities. As our Director of Human Resources, you will be a critical part of this mission because our people are our most important asset. You will be responsible for how we hire, retain, motivate, and develop talent across the organization. We are looking for someone who can be both strategic and hands-on, to partner with internal leaders in building a happy and productive team.

Responsibilities

    • Implement, manage and scale HR programs including on-boarding, compensation, compliance, performance management, relocation, coaching and benefits
    • Act as a partner and consultant to business leads in addressing any needs and implementing programs
    • Ensure strict compliance with labor laws, working with labor counsel to identify and manage areas of risk
    • Adopt a quantitative and data-driven approach to refining programs and policies
    • Manage and maintain programs that support a diverse workforce
    • Oversee a team of HR professionals

Qualifications

    • 10+ years as an HR professional, preferably in high growth and international contexts
    • 5+ years in a talent management role, building an HR team and function
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills as a collaborator, coach and facilitator
    • Excellent working knowledge of benefits, compensation, performance management and compliance
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
